    Quaker shaker
    Darlington 2 Newcastle 7

Newcastle went goal mad in their second pre-season warm-up game at the Northern Echo Arena in Darlington.

Goals for Damien Duff, Kevin Nolan, Shola Ameobi (2), Jonas Gutierrez, Steven Taylor and Andy Carroll put the Quakers to the sword, with veteran Dean Windass grabbing two for Colin Todd's side.

Duff got things underway with an early strike after Joey Barton's pass from the left, stroking it into the net but Darlington equalised when Tamas Kadar gave away a penalty that Windass tucked in.

It was 2-1 to United in the 17th minute when Barton again provided the pass for Nolan to finish from 12 yards and Shola got our third after 28 minutes from close range.

Ameobi got another nine minutes before the break firing across the keeper after wriggling past a defender to finish the first half scoring.

More was to follow and only three minutes into the second half Gutierrez got his first senior goal with a neat finish from a tight angle.

Steven Taylor made it 6-1 with a header on the hour and our scoring was complete when Carroll slammed home an Enrique cross with 14 minutes left, Windass having got his second minutes earlier.

United played the final 25 minutes of the game with ten men, Nicky Butt having left the pitch with a stomach injury.

Team(1st half): Krul, Beye, Kadar, R.Taylor, S.Taylor, Nolan, Duff, Smith, LuaLua, Ameobi, Barton.

Team(2nd half): Forster, Coloccini, Enrique, S.Taylor, R.Taylor, Butt, Guthrie, Nolan (Xisco 70), Gutierrez, Smith (Donaldson 70), Carroll.

Crowd: 6,698 (away following estimated at 4,500). Derek Llambias in attendance.

We are 20/1 to go down to league 1(not a bad 10er).

I think if the club is not sold by mid august then we are fu*ked big time, and will go on administration (15 points deduction), players who have any bit of quality will be sold, the over paied ones will be kicked out.

The funny thing is we play them after tomorrow in St James' Park (i'll be there), this game 5 years ago was a top game in the prem (both teams were in the champions leage in 2003) with Manc U & Arsenal (before Liverpool & Chelsea took our places), strange game football!?!?

I know everyone took the piss out of our new away kit, but last saturday the club changes the shorts to black (not sure it it's always gonna be black).
Looks alreeet? innit? too bad we lost the game after barton almost turned into the HULK but got subbed before he went all green.

The latest heap of dung being offered to SkySports by club MD Derek Llambias is that a bid that never was from the Singapore-based publicity-seekers, Profitable Group, has now collapsed.

With the price tumbling on a daily basis, expect the alleged other bidders to similarly vanish as Ashley & Co receive a lesson in brinksmanship from businessmen with infinitely more acumen than our wide boys.

People with far more knowledge than us are now openly using the word administration, perhaps even before the end of this month. Like everyone else though, we're just desperately waiting for firm news about something, anything to do with this club.

Our first meaningful fixture is in twelve days.

                          More to follow.

                          on the other hand...........
From The London Evening Standard, Wednesday:

Sebastien Bassong from Newcastle as manager Harry Redknapp looks to solve the club's defensive crisis.
Ledley King, Michael Dawson and Jonathan Woodgate will all miss the start of the season through injury, which increases the pressure on Redknapp to act in the transfer market.

Although Newcastle remain without a buyer for the club following the Singapore-based Profitable Group's cessation of takeover talks yesterday, the Magpies are prepared to lower their demands for the promising 23-year-old centre-back.
Owner Mike Ashley has strenuously denied claims the club will be put into administration if a buyer is not found but the need to cut costs remains and Bassong has expressed a strong desire to leave St James' Park (just sell the ****er).

PS: i didnt go to the game tonight (VS Leeds), none of the guys wanted to go even if it was for free, anyway it just ended 0-0.
                          i'm sure it was crap.

                            Yalla baba

Former Newcastle boss Jim Smith has described Mike Ashley's handling of the club as "a crime".
Ashley took control at St James' Park from Freddy Shepherd in 2007 and was initially regarded as a popular owner, endearing himself to the home supporters with acts such as sitting in the stands and wearing a replica shirt.
His decision to install Kevin KeeganSmith, who managed Newcastle from 1988-91, admits he is frustrated by the situation and said Ashley's handling of the club has lacked professionalism.
He told Sky Sports News:"It originally happened and the guy went in with all of that money and we all thought 'this is it, this is a tremendous opportunity for Newcastle to hit the big time'.
"They are a big-time club and they're a fantastic team with fantastic support.
"But obviously he went in there with no plan, no professionalism and it's gone downhill ever since. It's a crime.
"Hopefully the right owners can come in and sort it out because everybody knows Newcastle should be in the Premier League and challenging for honours."

                                More shite?

Newcastle managing director Derek Llambias believes the troubled Championship club could be in the hands of new owners next week.
The Magpies are limping towards the new season following their relegation from the Premier League with Mike Ashley desperate to sell and Chris Hughton in caretaker charge as an interim measure.
Singapore-based Profitable Group withdrew their interest in the St James' Park outfit earlier in the week, blaming a lack of communication from Newcastle.
Llambias, who has suggested the Steve McMahon-fronted consortium lacked the necessary finances to complete the deal, insists there are other parties interested who could agree a takeover within days.
"We are dealing with several people and giving most of our time and attention to the sale," he told The Sun.
                                Catch 22

"You must remember that some parties make offers but when it comes to putting up proof of funds they are a long way from sealing a deal.
"But I can say we are very close to completing a deal and it could happen next week."
Llambias confirmed that Hughton will remain in charge of team affairs until new owners are appointed, insisting it would be foolhardy to make a permanent appointment in the current climate.
He added: "It's Catch 22 - anyone who signs a deal will want their own choice of manager.
"Look what happened when Mike took over, Sam Allardyce was already in place and he didn't want him."

                                Keegan

One group reported to be interested in the Magpies is headed by Dubai tycoon Sirous Mahjoob (is he iranian/arab), who has claimed he wants to bring Kevin Keegan back to St James' Park for a third spell as manager.
Keegan walked away from Tyneside after becoming disillusioned at how transfer dealings were taken out of his hands by Ashley's appointment of Dennis Wise to take charge of player recruitment.
Mahjoob's spokesman said: "The money is there. Mr Mahjoob has a healthy interest in football and is bidding to take over an ailing club with a great worldwide reputation.
"He envisages a clean sweep with Kevin Keegan coming back as manager, this time with his own staff and control of players. Last time Keegan inherited a lot of people he didn't necessarily want and we don't want the same situation again.
"He has nothing against Shearer. He just thinks Keegan retains greater global appeal."
