        Transfer window:
        Done x 2
Confirmation is now forthcoming from SJP that striker Xisco from Deportivo La Coruna and midfielder Nacho Gonzalez from Valencia have both now signed

Xisco has signed a five year deal and will take the number 19 shirt, while Nacho joins on a season-long loan.
        Signed #1:
        Let's all have a Xisco

Xisco, full name Francisco Jiminez Tejada is a 22 year-old Spanish U21 forward who initially featured in Deportivo's B side before making his senior debut in 2005 (but didn't play against us in the Intertoto that year).

He's a current Spanish U21 international, scoring the opening goal for them in a 2-1 win against Russia in Moscow last month.

Xisco's next scheduled matches are for the Spanish U21s, who face Kazakhstan in Almaty on Friday and then Russia on home soil in Palencia on September 10th.

        Signed #2:
        Nacho Mag
26 year-old Uruguayan international Ignacio Gonzalez had only just moved to the Mestalla and wasn't part of their squad when Valencia played a friendly at SJP earlier in August.

However the Primera Liga side are happy to loan him out as they're over-staffed in the midfield area.

Nacho had spent last season on loan to Monaco from the Danubio club back in his native Uruguay.

He's a current international, having been named in the squad for World Cup Qualifiers over the coming days away to Colombia in Bogota and against Ecuador in Montevideo.

        No exit:
        Barton claim
It does seem as if there was some substance to press reports linking Joey Barton on Monday with a move elsewhere in the Premier League - Villa or Pompey being the touted destinations.

The player himself is alleged to have texted sychophantic ninny Jim White on SkySports to say:

"I didn't want to comment on speculation but I didn't want to leave Newcastle because I owe the club and the fans so much because of everything I have put them through."

        Yalla, im off to bed,

Keegan has left, was he sacked or he quit no one knows but there are over 15000 fans outside st' james park now.
I have no idea what is going on but if its tro its gonna be such a sad day not just for Newcastle but for football in general as he is one of the nice'est pepole you'll ever meet.

By the way, we dont want spam & bullshit in our thread, so if someone thinks Newcastle is crap then why come here and spread your filth? stick to your own (big club) threads and leave us alone.
                  Thank you.

Angry Newcastle fans protest against sacking of Kevin Keegan

                            Comment

Newcastle have announced that they have not sacked Kevin Keegan and they want him to remain as manager.

Keegan's future has been the subject of widespread speculation after reports emerged on Tuesday that Keegan had left the club.

The rumours about Keegan's future saw fans stage angry protests outside St James' Park with supporters calling for the head of owner Mike Ashley and the club's board.

However, the club have now revealed that they have not dispensed with Keegan's services and that the 57-year-old remains part of their plans.

It remains to be seen if Keegan will stay on as manager with reports suggesting the former England manager could still resign.
                              Meetings

The club statement on their official website read: "Newcastle United can confirm that meetings between members of the Board and manager Kevin Keegan were held both yesterday and today.

"Kevin has raised a number of issues and those have been discussed with him.

"The club wants to keep progressing with its long-term strategy and would like to stress that Kevin is extremely important, both now and in the future.

"Newcastle United values the effort and commitment shown by Kevin since his return to St. James' Park and wants him to continue to play an instrumental role as manager of the club.

"For the avoidance of doubt the club has not sacked Kevin Keegan as manager."
