Only time will tell, 8 games to go, thats all i can tell the mancs, glory seekers & haters.

As for Daei!! i mean when he took on Iran we were one of the best teams in Asia, now we are just on par with Qatar & Jordan getting beat at home and playing 4-5-1 against UAE and at home!!

Shearer is taking the team while we're in the bottom 3, either we stay there or go up, we cant blame him.

I dont understand why would someone bash a team in the bottom 3 while his team (whoever is winning this season) is top of the league? is it coz we are tro supporters? i dont know?

The diffrance between Newcastle United and you lot is even if the team goes down to league 3 there will be at least 40.000 in St James' Park, our fans didnt used to support Real Madrid if you know what i mean.
Its best fans in the world, i know it, you know it, keep on bashing bizatchiz.

I really feel for Newcastle fans right now. I love how the supporters are behind the team but are so angry at the board. I hope Newcastle stays in EPL, as they are a team with such great support and history... the EPL would lose a little bit of character if it loses Newcastle.

i think this is a very very stupid move. What are they thinking? They couldve brought in someone with experience. Just because he was a great player doesnt mean he is going to be a great manager.

5 games to go, starting next monday night at home to portsmouth, if we lose i can say we are 90% down, a point might not be bad if Hull, Blackburn, Boro and the mackems all dont win.

I think its just a bad year for me with TM, All 4 Iranian clubs in the ACL and Newcastle f**king things up!!

                      our championship kit.

United have released images of the new home kit that will be worn next season and is in shops from Thu May 14th.

Northern Rock is retained as shirt sponsor, but with home kits having a two year life and that deal scheduled to end in 2010, the second year of usage looks to set to be with AN other sponsor's logo.

Based on the photos available, the manufacturers have taken the folded over collarless design from 1988-90 and added it to the three black central stripe fashion of 1999-01 and 2003-05 with a different badge placing.

If all of that is meaningless to you, then the excellent historical kits site here may bring some enlightenment.

News on change kit design and release date is awaited, if its gonna be as ugly as this one then f**k me, but in a way no one is gonna get to see it in the championship.

                        interesting article i just read...

Newcastle United: Too Good To Go Down? Don't Make Me Laugh!

As the Premier League season draws to a close, fans of Newcastle United are having to come to terms with the very real possibility, and probability, of relegation from the top division.

You get the feeling that, until recently, people thought that they would, somehow, get out of the mire, simply because they were Newcastle. They are a big team. Too big to go down.

I was among those who thought that, until today's game against Liverpool. I was there at Anfield, and what I saw surprised me.

People tend to think that Newcastle are too good to go down. When you look at the individuals in the team, its hard to argue. Michael Owen, once the brightest prospect in European football, Obafemi Martins, another player who was touted as a future world beater, along with Alan Smith and even Damien Duff.

However, until you actually see them play live, it is hard to comprehend just how bad they are.

The likes of Mark Viduka, Owen, Martins, Duff, Smith, Nicky Butt, and Joey Barton may be solid Premier League players, but they have all fallen from grace at Newcastle. Individually, they are talented, but together they are useless.

The defending for all three goals was poor. The first was offside, but there wasn't a defender anywhere near Yossi Benayoun, while Dirk Kuyt and Lucas Leiva had free headers to extend the lead.

The final score was 3-0, but it could well have been six or seven. Harper made a few very good saves, while the underside of the crossbar saved the Magpies another three times.

No doubt, if Fernando Torres was playing, it would have been more. With Sebastien Bassong letting every long ball bounce before dealing with it, Torres would have capitalised on the errors and been through on goal a number of times.

It was just like a training session for Liverpool. Newcastle didn't create anything, and their day went from bad to worse when Joey Barton got a red card for a rash challenge on Xabi Alonso.

For the record, I felt sorry for Barton. Whenever he tries to get back to playing football, negative headlines are never far away. People will say that he brings it on himself, but I'm not sure his tackle today warranted a red card.

Of course, when I saw it live, there was no doubt he deserved it. After seeing a replay, however, I think a yellow card would have sufficed.

I think Barton is a passionate player, but his reputation precedes him, and every time he puts in a hard tackle, there is uproar about how he is a "thug" and should be in prison and not playing football.

By no means am I excusing what he has done in the past, but I think his play on the pitch is not "thuggish" but passionate, rather like that of Wayne Rooney. In fact, he seemed to be one of the only Newcastle players who cared about the game today.

Overall, from what I saw, Liverpool are good enough to win the title, if not this season then next, and Newcastle are definitely not too good to go down!

I cant wait to see Newcastle go down. Their current players and form is a disgrace to their history. They need a little punishment in the Championship to learn that just because you were a storied franchise doesnt mean you can stay in the Premiership n play like goh
