An unnamed consortium is speaking to the investment bank representing
Magpies owner Mike Ashley with regard to purchasing the club...

According to a report emanating from Sky Sports, the investment bank representing Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has entered negotiations with an unnamed consortium with regard to a takeover.

Apparently, Keith Harris, the chairman of investment bank Seymour Price, travelled to the north east on Tuesday to begin talks with the unnamed consortium.

Harris was appointed by Ashley to find a buyer for the Magpies in September 2008, but the retail entrepreneur has not been able to sell the club, despite a number of groups indicating an interest.

It is thought that Ashley halted his attempts to sell the Toon, but has once more stepped up his efforts following their relegation from the Premier League.

Meanwhile, it is claimed that Alan Shearer returned to Newcastle's training ground at Darsley Park on Wednesday morning to resume talks regarding his future at the club.

Ashley will appoint Keith Harris, chairman of Seymour Pierce, or bankers at NM Rothschild this week with a mandate to achieve a quick sale. His decision comes just days after the club was relegated from the Premier League.

Asked if he regretted his decision to buy the club two years ago, Ashley, who owns the sportswear chain Sports Direct, said:

The news comes as talks to give Alan Shearer, the care-taker manager, a full-time contract to rebuild Newcastle United were continuing this weekend.
Ashley also praised former interim manager Joe Kinnear, who took temporary charge of the club after Keegan quit last autumn.said Ashley. Kinnear was forced to stand down because of ill health.

these days are gone now mate, i'll be happy just to be back in the Premier League (if you havent heard, we went doon).

Anyway, another Toon fan shows up in these bad time is always welcome.

PS: im glad to see Osasuna get out of it after beating both Barca & real (reserves) in the last 2 games. i wish our players showed a bit of heart too.

"سيروس محجوب" روزشنبه در گفت وگو با ايرنا با بيان مطلب فوق افزود: جلسه نهايي خريد باشگاه دسته اولي نيوکاسل انگليس روز 29 خردادماه جاري با حضور "مارک اشلي" مالک باشگاه نيوکاسل و "علي دايي" سرمربي سابق تيم ملي فوتبال ايران در لندن برگزار مي شود.
وي مبلغ پيشنهادي مسوولان باشگاه نيوکاسل را 170 ميليون پوند اعلام کرد و اظهار داشت: 70 ميليون پوند به خاطر بدهي هاي اين باشگاه بايد به طلبکاران پرداخت شود که در اين جلسه دراين خصوص بحث و تبادل نظر خواهد شد.
سرمايه گذار ايراني مقيم امارات با رد شايعاتي مبني بر حضور "علي دايي"به عنوان سرمربي آينده تيم نيوکاسل گفت: دايي به عنوان مدير فني درباشگاه فعاليت خواهد کرد به طوريکه با نظر وي، سرمربي انگليسي فصل بعد نيوکاسل مشخص مي شود.
وي با بيان اينکه برنامه هاي بلندمدتي را براي بازيکنان ايراني طراحي کرده است، افزود: هيچ بازيکني ايراني فصل آينده در تيم نيوکاسل حضور نخواهد داشت بلکه در سال هاي آينده چند بازيکن جوان و مستعد ايراني وارد اين تيم مي شوند.
تاکنون نمايندگان باشگاه نيوکاسل چند جلسه را با محجوب براي فروش اين باشگاه در دوبي امارات برگزار کرده اند که آخرين مذاکره دو طرف روز 29 خردادماه در لندن برگزار خواهد شد.
