Blatter Doesn't want Penalty Kicks in WC Finals

    http://goal.com/en-US/articolo.aspx?contenutoid=210710

He wants to make a rematch if the final in the world cup ends in a tie, instead of deciding it in penalties from now on.

Sepp Blatter and his outrageous ideas

When you cant decide a game after 120 minutes then penalties seem the obvious choice you know, I am not against penalty kicks and to me such a thought is rather silly.

He's just saying that because he was so upset Italy won the world cup.

I wouldnt mind. Penalties are kind of a dumb way to finish a hard fought game.

ide rather have the winner be based on whoich team is better rather than luck so i agree with Blatter

I kinda agree with Blatter on this. Deciding the biggest sportevent with some luck-game is actually kinda ridiculous. The teams have fought for 7 games to be there, and their faith is being decided with some lucky penalty kicks.

I wouldn't organize a whole rematch tho, I'd just play on til someone scores. Eventually the better and most fit/in form team (that means the team that has worked the hardest) will win after those 120 minutes.

Keep the penalties, its not luck, it depends on nerves and goalkeeping quality.

im sure there are members on this board who would make a better president than blatter, i disagree, penalties are part of the game, u cant overexhaust a player, after 120min its unhealthy and dangerous

I know what he means. although I like it the way it is right now, I see penalties as pure luck. especially when they decide finals.

but rematches are just a stupid idea. it would decrease the woth of a final greatly.

to me the only alternative to penalty kicks would be the sudden-death rule. just let them play as long as someone wins

if he's so against penalties he should't scratch Golden goal!

when he says "rematch" he means 48 hours later in the same stadium.

I don't like Blatter, he's made alot of bad decisions and is obviously corrupt in some ways, but this idea is fair to the finalists I think.

So he wanted the 2006 World Cup final to be replayed on a Tuesday?
