think bout this iran and brazil in the finals and iran dominated the game but it is tied 0-0 goes to penalty we lose by brazilian luck. (if that happened all iranians would NOT want penalties).
and now think about this iran vs brazil the finals and brazil dominated the whole game and theytied 0-0 it goes to penalty iran wins by luck. (all iranians would love penalties if that happenes).
^^^proves that penalties can go in your favour and against your favour.

exactly, so everyone needs to shut up about it and put up with it.

What they neeeeeed to do is allow the referees to see the replays and then make a decision so that we won't have any bad calls. Those are what ruins games, not penalty!

FYI, only two WC Finals have been decided by penalties... and both were in the last 12 years. Again, having a re-match in two days can only benefit the game and the tournament, and certainly won't hurt it. Winning or losing penalties should not decide the World Champions.

I don't know what game you were watching (Italy-Brazil '94), because Italy only had a handful of chances the whole match, while Romario and Bebeto were having their field day against Italy- Romario came close to scoring sooo many times (remember Pagliuca kissing the post after the ball beat him and luckily bounced back to him...he could not believe that it didn't go in). Italy was playing for penalties the whole game, just like they did against Holland in the Euro2000 (usually what Italy does when they are dominated skill wise). You really have to be biased to say that Italy deserved that one.

Blatter is making sometimes annoying comments....
why the hell do you have always to change the game??? leave it as it is and all be fine...

HAHA you dont say these things when we're kicking it but you post it on the forum.

I recall you saying italy is one of the teams to win the world cup this year and now that they win you're bringing back the same old story. How can a team play for penalties?? That makes no sense, so be logical before making statements. There is nothing guaranteed in penalties especially for a team like Italy that has a bad history in losing penalties.

bro, you have nothing against italy, i prove you wrong every time but you still bring up the same old shit, give it up

I tell you the same things in person, you just don't listen
A team can play for penalties, like Italy did in 1994 and in the Euro2000 against Holland. During regulation, if you play with 11 players on your own side of the field for most of the game, and against teams like Brazil of '94 or Holland of 2000 who are technically and tactically superior and are pressing for most of the game, chances are you are playing for penalties, which is exactly what Italy did, because they could not simply break down the opposition through counter-attacks... Just because I don't like or agree with the way Italy has traditionally played football, doesn't mean that I lack logic or that I am an online-backstabber Also, you wouldn't be so pro-penalty if Zidane never got ejected and France won the World Cup, cuz you wouldn't. However, Italy did have a good counter-attacking system this time around involving different players in every game, so they didn't just win the whole thing by luck (I'm not saying that). My argument, which I stick to, is that having a re-match is not a bad idea at all just like video-replays (if you want to insist on tradition then you wouldn't agree with this). Games evolve after certain undesirable situations surface and ruin it... FIFA simply didn't have to deal with Penalty Finals because it didn't exist until 1994 and again in 2006, so you aren't necessarily "challenging tradition."

I disagree because italy does not play defensive and its a ridiculous statement to believe a team plays for penalties. LOL
There is no guarantee, are you telling me italy is such a weak team like macedonia vs. iran that they would play defense the whole game? Impossible.

As a matter of fact, they scored the most points after germany in the WC and they didnt concede any real goals (one own goal & one penalty that wasnt even a real penalty). So just cuz a team plays good enough that the other team cant score on them (which is the main point of playing football ) it doesnt mean they're defensive.
I KNOW YOU DIDNT WATCH MORE THAN 2 ITALY GAMES this world cup, so you can't claim that they play defensive. Italy has good players in EPL, LA LIGA, BUNDESLIGA and France...dont ever compare them to a D-grade team that plays defensive. Please, italy was UNDEFEATED FOR 2 YEARS until they changed coaches after the world cup. The only reason people like you are stuck on believing they play defensive is a thing of the past.

They have world class strikers, midfielders and defenders...you have to admit that they are the most professional team and that is why they won. They didnt have 1 star who carried them all the way, they played as a team and they all contributed to the win. In the final, they kept their professionalism and it was proved cuz zidane couldnt take the heat and ended his career on a sad note. Like I said, besides materazzi name 2 players on the italy squad who are considered "scum" or "cheater" or whatever else you guys like to pin on italy??

Italy's win was long overdue, they came close sooo many times in
90 (they lost in penalty in semis to argentina)
94 (they lost in penalty and they had injured players in the final)
98 (they lost in penalty to the host)
                      2002 (they got cheated)

^^thats how you become professional, by losing and gaining experience. No other team achieved that much in the world cups of the last 20 years, so it was just for italy to win it this time.

Just live with it bro, i get tired of running these stats by you everytime i see you.

so you think italy deserved to win the 94 and 2002 WC?:bs: they certainly didnt deserve to win these 2 world cups because brazil was a level higher than them in both cups. i dont know about 90 because it was a couple of months before i was born, and 98 im sure they didnt deserve to win over brazil or france either so just accept that you are wrong. italy did not deserve to win any of the WCs you mentioned, just because they got eliminated in penalties doesnt mean they deserved to win the WC.
