TM all the way, to hell with Italia & Brasil. im not Bazilian and im not Italian I am an Iranian and TM is the ONLY team worth arguing about.

i Admire both teams, I was a Big Italy fan in 1994 vs Brazil and IMHO Italy of 1994 was a much better, classier team than Italy 2006 and it was a shame Baggio's PK went high & wide but even though they lost they were a much classier side than Italy 2006, specifically they didnt dive all over the feild like a bunch of ninny girls every time they got touched. Im still happy they beat the frenchies tho

I think you are right about Italy of 90 and 94. They were a bunch of idols playing in those teams: Baresi, Bergomi, Donnadoni, Maldini, Baggio, Zenga and ... Italy could become the World champion easily in 1990, but they lost accidently to Argentina. but, I had never seen any team, playing like a TEAM as good as Italy played in this world cup. Italy was the meaning of team work. So I think they deserved it a lot.

And I fully disagree with you about diving. Except for the beautiful dive by Grosso (you can't say there was no contact!) against Australia, never saw any diving. If I am mistaking, please show me an evidence to back up you claim. I'm asking you because I found you a reasonable person and I don't want you to base your logic on some people's ill notion. rather, I like you to observe it and use your own logic.

So, please show me where and when they dove all around the field.

I am with you on your assesment. I too believe that Italy 94 was much classier side, and I enjoyed watching their games in that world cup even though I dont remember every game cuz I was taking my konkoor in month of June 94 when WC was going on..I enjoyed watching Baggio...But current Italy team is 180 degrees opposite of that 94 team..

dadash I totally understand why you disagree, i base my assesment on the games i watched, my statement never says it was a fact simply an opinion so i have no evidence for you. I felt that from the WC games i watched Italy & Portugal were the two teams who dove the most and argentina was the most exciting to watch. TM inspired me the first half vs Mexico and then broke my heart for the rest of the WC. Viva jan i appriciate your advice and it seems like we have a similar logical perspective when it comes to discussion.

I agree on the fact that Italy was more of a team and more teamwork than last world cups. But I do not agree on their dominance on the world cup as you say.

France did a wonderful job getting to the final. Excepted one game (against korea) they overpowered their opponents. They beat Spain, Brazil and Portugal (3 of the contenders of WC). They also played very well during the final., Zidane's saved header at 10 minutes before the end of the game could have just kill the game. Italians during the overtime were just not there (too tired I suppose), all they did was to defend the score.

Italy won the game in penalties, but there is no way that they dominated and deserved to win. Both team played equally and penalty shots determined the winner.

Please be reminded that when we talk about diving, we talk about falling without being seriously touched. Yes, I totally agree that portugal was the most fake team in the world cup. instead of playing their game they were thinking about diving and acting (specially against France, not to mention the Figo's dive against Iran). But again, I like to see one scene were an Italian player dove. you guys saw a lot of it so I assume it shouldn't be so hard to find one.
