It was a different era when Pele burst onto the scene back in the end of the 1950s. At that time the tempo of the game was relatively slow and rather less physical as it is now. Pele emerged at that era possessing skills none of the generation before him had. He used his own pace, his dribbling skills and shooting to great use. The 1960s was Pele's decade in terms of consistency, beauty and fair play.
When Maradona came on in the 1980s, the game had become physical, much faster and more tense. Maradona used his short height and talent to take an entire generation of players by storm. None were as good as him, none were as audacious. The way he battled out of challenges be it for Argentina, Barcelona or Napoli, it was a gem to watch.
I can say its harsh comparing the two as football has been changing constantly and we are comparing two different eras of the game. I personally feel both were as good as each other depending on the situation they were in.
probably on every aspect of the game if you look at it, and politically as well you would have to hand it to Maradona. The only thing Pele has on Maradona is sportsmanship.
i cannot make a decision
as i agree with some that both came from different eras
but at the same time, style of play has changed over the years
at pele's time most players probably didnt even know how to defend.. some games were so horrible to even watch or keep track of
but still.. knowing that.. Pele has been able to do things no one has done
at the same time, Maradona has done things no footballer has achieved
if u r talking about the moves they did or comparing their styles together
i say then ronaldinho is better than both of them
then again that is wrong to say, because again they do not fall in the same category
overall my friend, sorry to say this, but ur question is faulty!
