now which one of these two national teams do you rate higher than the other?!

    Portugal or Oranje aka Holland

For me its Portugal based on their form over the years. They have beaten Holland on the last editions of Euro and World Cup thought they were close encounters.

Although their very similar in terms of talent.

    Portugal: C.Ronaldo, Deco, Quaresma.

Holland: Van Persie, Van Nistelrooy, Robben.

id say holland has more talent at its disposal but portugal overrall has taken the spotlight...the portugeuse league has also surpassed that of hollands

.....not too long ago the portuguese and greek league were side by side lol

        Good q.

I dislike the Portugese NT but I admire their youth set-up. They're producing some of the best and fastest talents. When I compare the positions Portuguese have the nod.

        Defenders-Portugal
        Midfielders-Portugal
Forwards-Holland, but both are lacking and use a lot of attacking midfielders.

Holland's youth are still developing and soon may be better, but for now I would take Portugal for sure.

Portugal of course, this Holland team is one of the worse ones ever. Van Basten is an idiot coach also. Sticking with the youth is not a good idea when they are crap.

Portugal are top 4 in Europe among France, Italy, Germany.

At first I thought Van Basten was stupid for choosing youth over experience, but he's proven me wrong. He's done really well to introduce a whole host of young potential stars. Sure he's paying for it now, but I respect that he made the choice. It would've been easy for him just to come in and use the same players, but instead he took the harder and longer route for the sake of Hollands. People will be thanking him in a few years.

Portugal's probably better now then they were during the Euro's comp. They're arguably the best European team at the moment.

You are probably right, but in the results game business that is international football it is hard to make it work. Also the Dutch youth talents are not as good as before, which makes them look a bit ****y. It is sort of like saying, it is Dutch youth, it must be good.

BTW, I think Germany is currently the best team in Europe.

Speaking from experience of a mere 10 months, I say Portugal Though yes, Netherlands does appear to have better history overall.

Holland has a lot of talent comparable to Portugal.

But Portugal has a solid back with a solid midfield and attack which is growing with the likes of Quaresma and C.Ronaldo.

Holland is basically an underachiever but I think both countries still have a lot to prove to the rest if Europe.

This thread should have had a poll, dont you think? That would mean people cuold vote without actually leaving a comment so oyu'd get a broader general opinion..... just a thought, I dunno if its possible to do that after a thread has already been opened (and posted on lots of times )

No offense, but Holland and Portugal are far better then Iran Its not even fair to put them in the same sentence.

Also if Portugal had a striker the last 6 years, they would have won atleast one trophy. Nuno Gomes and Pauleta dont cut it internationally.
