MONTE CARLO (AFP) - McLaren claim they are confident an investigation into their team tactics in Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix will clear them of breaking the rules.

Formula One's governing body the FIA launched an inquiry Monday after Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton posted a processional 1-2 for McLaren without ever fighting each other for the lead.
McLaren afterwards issed a vehement denial that they had acted illegally by ordering Hamilton not to challenge Alonso.
Announcing the probe FIA in a statement said: "The FIA has launched an investigation into incidents involving the McLaren Mercedes team at the 2007 Monaco Grand Prix in light of a possible breach of the International Sporting Code.
"The relevant evidence is under review and a further announcement will be made in due course."
