Inter had a great comeback and some great goals, but i have the say bayern were pretty unlucky, especially with that goal-line clearance

New season is upon us and I think we are going to rock this season well at least in Bundesliga. But on a serious note, I am aiming for last 4 in in the CL, Bunesliga title is well overdue (well it's been more than a year since we last won it ) and let's take the German Cup while we are at it LOLsigpic

Our signings have been smart so far and we have a complete team on our hands now, at least as perfect as it can get since we dont have Barca or Real Madrid like resources.

football is a game of incidents, anything can happen. while we have a good team, we must admit that
1) our CBs are crap! our best is boateng who is only 22 years old, has not trained with bayern yet, has had serious knee injury and is not very experienced. other candidates are gustavo, van buyten, badstuber, breno, tymoschuk. none of them are good enough.
add to that there is a big question mark over rafinha. first of all, this guy became a bench warmer in genoa, and we are hoping he will pick up his game and reach his schalke level again. and second, both him and robben are so offensive minded that we are gonna see gaps and spaces on our right side for opponents to exploit.
2) we lack an experienced leader on the field. van bommel was a very key figure in our team and as usual, van gaal acted like a moron and let him go. he was a real leader and mitunest teamo jam bokone. last year against inter, we saw that the team collapsed all of a sudden and noone was there to take responsibility. more over, van bommel is a very good tackler and destroyers of the opponents build up play. we dont have that anymore. luis gstavo is not such a player, nor is kroos or even tymoschuk. absence of van bommel has lowered shweini's game as well. we can see how good he was that milan actually let pirlo leave just cos of having van bommel!
letting lucio and van bommel go hurt us alot! and we also let demicheli go while keeping losers like breno and van buyten! although demichelis was error prone, but he is much better than our other candidates.
and ofcourse, last summer transfer seasons complete inactivity by van gaal was the biggest blow to us. pfft!
this year CL is being played in munich, it was the perfect opportunity to win the CL. our board set a budget of around 50 or 70 million if im not mistaken. but again, as usual, they acted cheap, they spent only half of that and are satisfied. the management aim is to win bundesliga and IF POSSIBLE, reach the finals of CL. with this mentality, we shouldnt expect anything better.
unfortunately germany mentality is so stubbon and rigid at times. we deal with a lot of german companies at work. they are all the same, once they set something in mind, or they have a rule, its impossible for them to bend it.
baba, this year is exceptional, u r gonna host the CL finals, it wont hurt a lot if you do things a bit differently. we are so desperate for getting a CB, lucio was willing to come back, we know he is old but make an exception this one time, give this oldie a 2 year deal. he is still better than the other defenders we have! but no, they wont.
we are do desperate for a full back, we have been chasing coentrao for 2 years no, but no, they are not willing to over pay just this one time! they paid 5 million for rafinha and they are happy! if we were willing to pay 20 million for coentra and spent only 5 million of it, why not use the remaining 15 million for strenghtening the squad?Last edited by yashar_fasihnia; 07-22-2011, 12:26 AM.

it still remains van buyten is slow, clumsy and not good on the ground.
during his hamburg days, boulahrouz was half the time cleaning up his mess.
even the belgians in the national team dont like van buyten and prefer kompany and vermalen instead. i think Shahin K can vouch for that.
nevertheless, bayerns defense as a team is poor and right now, they dont have a winning mentality and give up easily which needs to be improved. the lack of a leader in the field is clear.

^last season we had good enough of a team to make the last 4 of ACL, no doubt...We blew it against Inter at home on a night that just wasn't our night and we blew it in the cup at home against Schalka, where we just didn't play well.
I do think we can achieve what we didn't achieve last season. Last 4 in CL and surely the double domestically.sigpic
