and believe me I know alot about football past. Don't get me wrong kahn was a good goalkeeper but what Im saying is that Casilias and Buffon will even be better than kahn after they have retired. Thats just my opinion.
u think casillas will become better than kahn, thats ur opinion and we shall see.
u said kahn was an average GK which i think ur totally wrong with and u wouldnt be saying this if u were following football from the age of 9.
when casillas can beat this record of kahn, then we shall see :
IFFHS' World's Best Goalkeeper of the Year
The following is a list of goalkeepers selected by the IFFHS every year since 1987 as "The World's best Goalkeeper.List of Winners (European Best GK of the Year)

actually chilavert was quite good in savings. he was a real leader of paraguay and a solid tower in goal besides his goal scoring abilities.
if u remember worldcup 1998, he was very good. maybe if he was playing for a stronger team or atleast a team with a better defense than paraguay, he would have appeared better as well.
on top of that, i believe at that time, it was a matter of time period as well. chilavert won those awards in a period where most of the other top GKs were in transition, either on a decline, or just starting to shine...
thats why, i wouldnt consider him the best GK and i doubt many others would, but he was one of the better GKs of his time around the world.

as u can see,, kahn has won a great deal of individual honors from different tournaments and organizations from all around the world and europe.
casillas has just been nominated in best team of the tournament, best team of this month, blah blah... only twice 2nd best GK of the world in 2002 and 2003. even in 2006 and 2007 when there wasnt major compeition from GKs around the world, he ended 3rd and 4th!!!
didnt wannt include those crap bravo and bambi awards that both of them have won.
but never, BEST PLAYER OF A TOURNAMENT, or BEST GK OF THE YEAR, or BEST PLAYER OF THE YEAR!

we played FC Koln today at cologne stadium.
we kicked their @$$ 3-0. 2 from toni and 1 from prince poldi.
could have scored atleast 3 more in the second half alone. toni missed a 1 on 1 and a tap in while ze roberto dribbled past the GK but hit wide!!
we played 3-5-2 but unlike ghalenoi, didnt rely only on crossing.
lahm, ze roberto, schweinsteiger and podolski when he entered all played great fluid ground football.
we played with
-----------------------------------------rensing----------------------------------------
---------------------------------------demichellis------------------------------------
----------------lucio------------------------------------------van buyten-------------
------------------------------------------ottl---------------------------------------------
-----lell------------------------------------------------------------------------lahm------
------------------ze roberto---------------------schweinsteiger-----------------------
-----------------------toni----------------------klose-----------------------------------
and then oddo came in for lell, podolski for klose and borowski for schweini all in the second half.
i would like to see oddo or sagnol ahead of lell. he isnt on the same class as the rest in my opinion. same for ottl. but we dont exactly have any other DM. demichellis can play there but he is a CB and has said he prefers to play CB and right now, klinsman is using him as our sweeper.
van bommel also isnt exactly a DM. he didnt play today. dunno why? he got a red card i know but was it last game or 2 games back??
hopefully, with the addition of ribery, we will become even better.
i think klinsman is slowly trying to inject oddo into the team. he is very experienced and has a better physique than lell. gotta wait for some time.
anywayz, right now, we gotta concentrate on steaue bucharest for our openning game in champions league on wednesday. i think its away at bucharest.
its gonna be a difficult game, probably they will be playing a closed compact defensive game and relying mostly on counter attacks.
im worried about rensing.
nevertheless, i think we can win the game away.
