Saba Battery proves they are best club in Middleeast and that Iran is the Best league

I think you guys remember West Asian Club Basketball Championships, Last season Saba Battery went all the way to the final And after all the fuss and fights on the stadium between Saba Battery and Al-Hikma of Lebanon there was no winner announced and the years edition was called off.!!

Saba Battery was though named the winners.!!
This year again they enterd to prove and defend their title.!!

    And so they did.!!

In the groupstage matches they got following results to finish 2nd in their group...

    Saba Battery-Al-Kharaba 110-82
    Arena-Saba Battery 76-75
    Saba Battery-Al-Jala 53-73

Also Irans 2nd Representative made the Quartefinals, That club was Petroshemi...

In quartefinals both iranian clubs triumphed by winning their matches

    Saba Battery-Al-Ittehad 82-72
    Petroshemi-Arena 83-81

While in Semifinals 2 of the 4 teams were Iranians which proved Irans Basketball league might be the strongest in the Middleeastern Region...showing its improvement...

While in Semis Saba battery triumped and Petrshemi fell to Al-Jalaa

    Saba Battery-Bluestars 68-63
    Petroshemi-Al-Jala 58-70

While Saba Battery took the trofy again by beating Al-Jala 82-79 in the final and once again becoming Middleeasts best basketball club....

Petroshemi became 4th after losing 3rd place to Bluestars 87-64..

Iran did very well here and Saba Batterys win was surely a biig boost to Iranian basketball..

Anywayz thought id let you kno on how well these 2 iranian clubs did
Saba battery have now qualified for the Asian Club championships.!! Which is much much bigger...

unfourtunatly Petroshemi missed out becauze top 3 only qualifies.!!

    thanks for the info.

    thats a great success.
and basketball is biiig in lebanon, way bigger than in iran. still iranians won

    another info:

recently I was watching IRINN sportsnews and I saw how an iranian basketballplayer just had moved to a serbian league club.
I forgot what his name was, what club he played for (it wasnt saba), or what the name of his new club was.

that guy looked very promising. he looked like someone. he was tall, had good physique and looked good

i heard that saba battery is sponsored by the Iranian nuclear agency and it requires all its players to have non-UK/USA/EU passports to avoid security hackles

Pretty sure there isnt a rugby team. Armenia and Azerbaijan have one though, and Rugby would be a sport Iranians could be decent in imo. I think Iran has a Cricket team though.

Yes, Iran does have legioneers in Basketball aswell,

We actually have 2 Iranians in German league, Aswell as 1 of the Iranian internationals transferred to the Serbian league, I myself dont kno his name but that such transfers are happening in Iranian basketball is very good to see.!!
