WOW? are u KIDDING ME? Eddie "wheres that wife i need to smack" Belforu?
    Cujo? CUJO?

man i never thought id be defending NYC in an argument but khabalood u alrite there man? Being a resident of the toronto region, i have seen cujos exploits up close. And they do not come within a MILE of what martin brodeur did in New Jersey. Cujo was a good goalie. Nothing more. He never was a leader. He never was a fighter. He had godlike reflexes. But he was more of a marty turco than a broduer. Did Marty have it easier with the trap? yes. But at the same time everyone knows that a stanley cup champion is built from the net out. Martin Brodeur is the reason there are 3 stanley cup banners up in the rafters in New jersey.

As for belfour. THe man has had a good career, no doubt. But to compare him to Brodeur would be crazy man. Whenever the two have met, in the playofffs, broduer has been the victor. Remember when stars lost the Devils?

I know you hat e the style New Jersey plays. Trust me i do too. I hate basically everything about that franchise. I hated how scott stevens was celebrated as this supposed "leader" when all he was just a sad pathetic bully. I hated how no one blames Lou Amerillo for ruining hockey (along with Bettman) in the 90s with his trap. I understand that. But to take any credit away from broduer is just idiotic.

aaah remember how everyone said how even that trade was? Not so even now huh Sam. Craig RIvet is the worst hockey player i have ever watched, EVER. I bet half the kids in this forum could play better than him. He cant shoot, pass, defend. He does have this wonderful way of giving up the puck all the time though.

When all four were in their prime Brodeur was chosen last to the Canadian national team in 2000. The initial call up was 1 Roy 2. Cujo 3. Belfour 4. Brodeur. Roy chose not to play. Belfour was coming off an injury so the order was altered to Cujo, Brodeur then Belfour. Had the Canadian national team not left Cujo out to dry against the swedes, Broduer would have never got a game in.

Moreover, Brodeur benefited immensely from a strong defensive team throughout his career, which allowed him to build up his stats and records. Other goaltenders were not as lucky.

Also you do not know that I hate NJ. That was an assumption you made.

im nt defending cujo or turco.. roy and brodeur have been the best goalies in the past 2 decades.. ther e has been many good and excelllent goallies like cujo kiprusoff eddie so on.. but the best 2 have been roy and brodeur.. now what my main point is that luongo is the current best goalie and he will be a legend.. he is going to be what roy and brodeur has been.. and right now luongo is better then brodeur

lol, hasek has won the mvp award twice and the top goaltender award six times. In fact those ect. that keep getting refered to kept broduer from winning the top goaltender award until they had either retired or had been hobbled with injuries.

sorry khabalood jan, my mistake, it was PIH who said he hates NJ. My mistake. I still think your argument is rather lacking. You could be as defensive as you want but you need a good goalie to succeed. Want proof? look at minnesota. THey play the most NJ style type of hockey there is. Yet they never make it deep in the playoffs. Why? Because manny fernandez is at best an above average goalie. Sorry Man, when all is said and doen, Marty Broduer will go down as the second best goalie of all time.

oh i agree right now. But i just meant career wise. Right now, Marty's confidence is shakey, with the "Godfather' runnign things the way he has.

mf jaan, I don't agree with your opinion about Brodeur. NJ had four top defensemen when they were winning cups years ago. Other goaltenders did not have the benefit of such a good defense in front of them. Minnesota is not as good a team as nj and neither is Fernandez better than Brodeur.

Sorry Sam, but the series is finished, with a dominant shut out from Hasek at the Shark Tank.

                          Wings Win the Series 4-2

But I find it truly ironic that the "experts" at ESPN who all chose the Sharks to win now seem to be jumping on the bandwagon writing, "the Detroit Red Wings are no longer the Western Conference's biggest playoff underachievers of recent years -- and they might have even found a team to take their place."

yeah man congrats you guys really proved that you were the better team. good luck with anaheim!!!. but sharks could have one cuz grier had an open net bernier could have easily done a backhand roofer on his break away. and even though thornton was tied up, i still think he could have made an effect to scorre
