Barca managers and players are scared, its all about Real now, we are at the top of the table and we will stay there and be crowned champs of la liga in four weeks..Barca will have a tough game against ATL MAD..

Barca face bogey team in La Liga title run-in

MADRID, May 17 (Reuters) - Barcelona are confident they can overcome their bogey team Atletico Madrid away on Sunday, and return to the top of the Primera Liga with a little help from the rest of the league.

Frank Rijkaard's side lost their leadership of the table after drawing 1-1 at home to Real Betis last weekend, allowing arch-rivals Real Madrid, who beat Espanyol 4-3, to go level on 66 points but top due to their better head-to-head record.

With four games left, Barca's last chance for silverware this season is now out of their own hands. On paper they have an easier run in than Real though, if they can come away from the Calderon unscathed.

Recent history suggests that will be no mean feet. Atletico and their leading scorer Fernando Torres have proven slippery rivals of late.

The Catalans have lost three and drawn two of their last five games against them, from which Torres has pillaged six goals. Also, Barca have only won twice in their last 11 away games.

'It will be difficult. Atletico have always had good games against us and they have a lot to play for,' said Barca goalkeeper Victor Valdes.
'But I am confident we will return to the top soon, because our rivals have difficult games as well.'

Atletico fans have split feelings over the game. A win would put them a step closer to a UEFA Cup place for next season as they lie sixth in the standings with 54 points.

But it would surely sink Barca's chances of securing a third successive league title, and leave their city rivals Real in the driving seat.

'I don't care if we beat Barca and Real are crowned champions, although it would be a little painful. Even if we win, I still think Barca are favourites for the title,' said Atletico midfielder Peter Luccin.

The Rojiblancos are in high spirits after thumping King's Cup finalists Getafe 4-1 away last weekend.

Leaders Real visit Recreativo Huelva on Sunday looking to avenge an embarrassing 3-0 defeat in the Bernabeu from just before the mid-season break.

But they have the best away record in the league, and have won seven of their last eight matches. Recre are seventh with 50 points.

Sevilla are only two points off the pace in third place and had to endure extra-time and penalties to secure their second consecutive UEFA Cup against Espanyol on Wednesday.

But they have shown a remarkable ability to maintain their push on three fronts - they also have a place in the King's Cup final - and visit mid-table Deportivo Coruna on Sunday still very much in the hunt.

Title outsiders Valencia, fourth with 62 points, travel to face Real Mallorca on Saturday, when fifth-placed Real Zaragoza (55) host struggling Athletic Bilbao.

A defeat for bottom club Gimnastic Tarragona away to Real Betis on Saturday will mean they are relegated.

i know that was a very exciting match....i almost had no nails left by the time higuaeen scored the winner..
i was a huge RM fan untill they fired my man del bosque for no good reason ..madrid is truly a majestic club.....the only problem is when they give morons like the last president too much power....and when they start to just chase popular football personalities rather than needed talent....!
i am still not sold on capello yet...! i just dont think he is that good of a coach... as usuall madrid hiring him cause he was wc winning coach.. its those type of decisions that kinda annoys me about Madrid...!! i really hope they can win the league this year....that is exactly what they need to get back confidence and start rolling to the top of europe again..

Real is going to stay at the top, they are winning 1-0 at half time...And I am confident that they are going to add another goal or so in the second half...

gago gives the most unnecessary penalty... casillas touches it but off by 1 inch.

2-1. hopefully they wont score off a counterattack/we will score.
