Van Nistlerooy is by far the best player of the season, he came in From Man Utd with everyone expecting a lot and still doubting him, but he stepped up and became goal scorer of the season after bearly knowing the squad while it was being built under Capello.

Sergio Ramos, Torres and Guti were solid and stepped up in everygame they played well.

I agree with you guys...Cannavaro didnt meet its expectations as the best defender in the world, Sergio has played better than him in degense.
But in offense, definitely Ruud has stepped up to what was exptected of him coming from ManU. Guti has played incredibely also in midfield...Overall, there are lots of Real players that have played better than Cana...
Two more games, two more wins and we are the la liga champ....
Also, Beckham has played well also in last few games, he is showing the tenacity and aggresive that he used to have....

Real Madrid Make Alves Contact - Report

AS are reporting that Real Madrid have initiated contact to bring Daniel Alves to Real Madrid.



zoom - galleria It is worth nothing that Real Madrid wanted to sign Alves last summer as well, and the deal almost went through, but for Cicinho refusing to go in the other direction at the last minute.

Alves has since expressed his willingness to move to a bigger club publicly, and Liverpool are said to be leading the race.

However, AS have suggested that Madrid sporting director Pedja Mijatovic, as well as right-hand-man Franco Baldini met the player's agent, Jose Rodriguez Baster, on Friday evening in order to discuss the transfer.

Baster also represents Mohamadou Diarra, and worked closely with Madrid last summer to facilitate the Mali international's move from Lyon.

Sevilla's official policy is that every player is for sale if the price is right, and many believe that Daniel Alves could be allowed to leave this summer, in order to help the team generate some transfer money.

Madrid share a good relationship with the Seville club, having recently done business over Sergio Ramos and Julio Baptista.

Alves signed a new contract last summer, raising his buy-out clause to 60 million euros, but Los Merengues believe that they can land him for between 20 and 25 million. It will still be some business for Sevilla, having bought him for a little over half-a-million euros four-and-a-half years ago.

The report also suggests that both Fabio Capello and Bernd Schuster are in favour of Alves, allowing the club to go ahead even before they finalise their coach for next season.

Confirmed: Fenerbahce Sign Roberto Carlos

Fenerbahce have confirmed that they have signed Roberto Carlos from Real Madrid.



zoom - galleria According to the official website, Carlos' agent Dino Pasalic arrived in Turkey on Tuesday night, and met with Murat Ozaydinli, one of the club vice presidents, to finalize the details.

Ozaydinli has confirmed that the deal is now official, and the player will arrive in Turkey to complete his medical and sign the contract in the coming days.

"We signed a player who perfectly fits with Fenerbahce's traditions," he told the club's official website.

"Everybody must be grateful to our president Aziz Yildirim. In the past, we could not mention even the names of ordinary players.

"But today, we can even sign such legendary players without having any problems.

"For the last two years, Fenerbahce are being talked upon on all corners of the world and this was our main target.

"Our meeting about Roberto Carlos' transfer took only 15-20 minutes. We told them our principles and it was all over.

"Dino [Palasic] came to Turkey late at night, we had a meal together and the deal was sealed. This is about the power of Fenerbahce, this is about the synergy we created here at Fenerbahce."

The news will not come as a surprise, as it was a deal said to be in the pipeline, though there was also the faintest of chances that he could have spent another year at the Bernabeu.

He leaves Madrid after eleven long seasons, during which he has won three Champions League trophies (98, 00, 02) and three La Liga titles (97, 01, 03). Interestingly, his first and last seasons have both seen him play under Fabio Capello.
