    Aussie Rules Football

    wow yesturday and today in tutorial period. my teacher and i were all talking about sports an blah blah and he had a tape of aussie football and he put it on and WOW omg. this sport isssss soooo damn awsome. i love it now. i like number 1 on the sydney swans that tall kachal white guy i forget his name but yeah.

    i know we got a few aussies in here, so who likes this game?

    kinda like rugby too . i thinks it hella funny when the ref makes the points official

    AFL is its name and is very popular among aussies specially teenagers my friends bring afl ball to school and just kick around, its a fun game to play and the guy in sydney swans the big guys he's name is Barry Hall

          lol its AFL and its a game just as old as football.

          It was originally played in a simiar format by indigenous Australians and the game has been evolved into what it is today.

          There are sixteen teams in the league and never any relegation, so its the same teams every year.

          Its a game that takes away Australia's best athelete's unfortunately. Because their best atheletes play this sport as it is the most popular code in Australia, its like a religion for them! If this game didn't exist and the Athelete's who played this sport played football Australia would be amongst the top ten footballing nation in the world gauranteed. Watch one game of this and you will realise how fit and strong these guys are some of them are just simply amazing!! Much stronger and some faster than footballers. Every year they play a game with Ireland of International rules, which is Irish gaelic football mixed with aussie rules, buts it mostly Irish rules and the Aussies beat the Irissh at their own game lol.

          Australia is the best sporting nation in the world, yet again Australians like their sport to be rough and tough and they hate football because they think its for girls with all the diving and play acting (These are the acts that riun our game!), watch Australian Rules football, NRL or Rugby Union and you will realise why instanly!!

          Take it from someone who has lived in OZ all his life

            i know so many aussie athletics play this sport, they are physically stronger and faster than many footballers i know (kaabi exception).i dont relly know how much an average player runs in afl but it should be a huge amount maybe twice as much as footballers

              they definately cover alot more gournd than footballers especially the midfielders as the game is longer and it has a much bigger field. But its pretty sad how Australia's best athletes go into a sport which they cant represent their country in!! Australia in my opinion has been a sleeping giant in football and will continue to be because of the other codes!!

                  Being born and raised in OZ you cant help but to find some kind of love for this sport. I have been a fan of Hawthorn for about 20 years now.

                  IT is the most physical sport in the world with no doubt. Some players have been known to run anywhere up to 18-19 Km's in a match. Thats about 10 more than any soccer player.

                  Rugby for me is boring. But thats just my opinion.

                  HOWEVER.....Soccer is WAYYYYY above the rest as the best sport in the world

                    damet garm ur a Hawthorn supporter too, we have done well so far this season!

                    About Rugby.. atleast rugby is played on an international stage, ozzie rules isn't!

                    If Australia didn't have this sport imagine chris judd as midfielder in football , adam goods as defensive midfielder or gary ablett as forward.
