Yeah I'm aware of that much.. there are actual FIFA members that aren't official countries (such as Palestine). Just wondering how they'd be allowed to participate in the Gold Cup, which according to the FIFA Calender is an official continental finals tournament.

I'm very happy with their performances. I've been following Canada for a long time now, and this is by far the best national team I've seen. I think they'd give Iran a good challenge to be honest - good tourny. They got robbed like always (something always goes wrong), but generally, they were great.

Good game Canada you guys gave us a run for our money but we were just the better team. What I didn't like is how USA went on the defensive after going up 2-0. That goal by the white dude who is your striker is awesome. That was simply a thing of beauty going right by our goalie. I thought the Red card we got was kind of questionable but that's why we play the game. USA vs Mexico should be a very interesting match up I am looking forward handing it to Mexico. USA usually plays very well against Mexico except for when the game is in Azteca.

indeed i was very surprised to see canada's performance. i was invited to the game and even had a badge but decided not to go as "who wants to watch canada vs us ) but now i deeply regret, it was quiet nice game and canada got robbed. can't believe i watched the whole game

I looked at the goal online again that they didn't count for Canada. That was very questionable they called it offsides but honestly it could of gone either way. The problem is Canada started attacking a little too late man and it caught up with them. If they showed that same passion in the first half Canada would of won that game. Anyways good luck you guys should beat Guadelupe.

US escapes against Canada, but against Mexico, I don't know. I'm a pretty big Mexico fan, and the only thing US can use to their advantage is their speed and the refs. Mexico wins it 2-1.

Mexico is incapable of scoring against the US outside of Azteca (it's been 9 games going back to 1999 and in their latest game they lost with their full team against the US B team) so they will lose especially after barely beating a bunch of islanders who aren't even a FIFA recognized country.

True but it's still a rivalry and if USA underestimates Mexico they will lose. Mexico usually plays to their competition so they will get up for the USA game. Notice how seriously they took Iran because they knew Iran was not going to be an easy pushover. Now at the same time notice how they played against Honduras they lost 2-1 because they took them lightly. They also barely beat Guadelupe 1-0 and Cuba 2-1.

I expect USA to win but it is not going to be an easy task.

something interesting:

for the world cup qualifiers, dont know if it was 06 or 02, canada was playing honduras..honduras' first goal came from a penalty kick. Replays showed that the honduras player, the fantastic david suazo, simply slipped and wasnt even touched by the defender.
the game was 1-1, and in like the 88th minute canada scored. But the goal was disallowed because there was a high kick before. Replays showed it wasnt a high kick; as a matter of fact the players foot met the ball at the exact same level as the honduras player, so then his foot would have been high as well. Anyway you look at it it was a legit goal and they should have won; screwed twice in 1 game.
