What are you talking about, there is nothing wrong with what I said . "Khaleej" simply means "gulf" and nothing else. You can use this word for any gulf in the world. "Khaleej el Arabi" would be Arabian gulf and I didn't, nor do I refer to it as such . If you're going to call me out on something I said, let it be something I actually said

As for Iran playing Egypt, I actually read a few days ago on an Iranian sports site (iransportsmedia.com?) that Iran and Egypt were close to booking a friendly. However, the teams had conflicting free dates and their proposed August date Egypt already committed to playing Ivory Coast in Paris. Instead it said Iran was close to booking a friendly with Jamaica. I think Iran/Egypt would be entertaining too. I heard the federations tried to book the match in the wake of the two nations new diplomatic spirit with each other. The only other time they played 7 years ago it was a fun match.

you would've thought we learned our lesson and don't end up play these grass-rolling, diving cheats again after what they did in 2005. every time we've ever played in kuwait they've been awarded at least one penalty. the match was almost stopped early because of fighting near the end. i'd say a quarter of the match was spent treating "injured" kuwaiti players rolling around in the grass :furious

on the bright side, at least they didn't restart the match from the start after we scored our goal. though i'm sure they would have again had we scored first.
Welcome to Iran's world dude. Every tiime we go up agians these jokers like Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman they try to pull this anti football grass rolling crap on us because that's all they know. It's a disgrace to fotball and any player who grass rolls should be RED CARDED. The refs just need to clamp down on this and send a mesasge to these dirty teams.

Egypt has a good team and I remember the last time we played against you guys in a tourney, the game went into a crazy penalty shotout. You guys won at the end but it was a very good game played by two good teams.

Man I bet you if we were in Europe, FIFA and UEFA would do something about this crap. Asians and Africans are second-rate citizens of the football world. I remember the match you're talking about well! It was the LG Cup. Great game (and no diving or cheating either )

inshallah man. I'll believe it when I see it. We're set in midfield and up front... but our defense has evolved into a disaster. If we can fix that and avoid the group of death for once in qualifying, we'll have a good chance I think.

Egypt is going through a golden generation and with a little planning ahead, this team will surely make it to the WC...some luck in the draw will help too

I hope you're right.. the key word there is planning, something our FA simply doesn't (and is too cheap to) comprehend. So many decent to good international coaches have expressed interest in coaching Egypt over the past several years, and everytime they sitdown for contract talks, we slap them in the face with an insultingly low proposal. We're in dire need of an experienced manager now to make it to that next level. Hassan Shehatta just doesn't cut it.

i know his cool. Its just that people should start calling it the 'persian gulf' and not just 'the gulf' as that is the incorrect term.

pharoah we love you.. egypt for WC2010

LOL, when I saw the shady refereeing I instantly remembered that friendly from way back. Anyway, here are the goals:
