What does Iran's level of play have to do with the US finishing last in the Copa America?

It will actually benefit USA in the long run becasue this will add depth and experience to the bench. There is nothing wrong with that it's a brilliant move. By the way I woudn't laugh too much can you honestly tell me Iran could of done any better?
why should they bring their a team? because its COPA america which is way better than GOLD CUP. b team should be used for some friendly games or really easy tournaments. i dont even like how brazil sent b team to copa america. brazil only sends its a team to world cup and sometimes wcq and conf cup. i dont like how these teams use b teams in such competitions.

Sherwin: There are plenty of good teams in CONCACAF apart from mexico/usa.
Honduras, Costa Rica, Trinidad, (even Jamaica in their day) are some of the sides who have given impressive displays on the world stage. I think if the tournament was expanded to 4 groups of 4 like the European Cup and held every 4 yrs, it would certainly add more prestige, would it not?
        ya, that's my fault.

Venezuela for sure has one of the best environments to play, after all they have a social government that is growing in power for the countries needs rather than capitalistic profiting.

Argentina and Paraguay are playing right now... probably the 2 teams who will meet in the final.

That woudn't make any sense you can't have a 3 team playoffs. I think 6 teams make it the #1 and #2 of each group. So you will have Venezuela and Peru from group 1, Mexico and Brazil from group 2, Argentina and Paraguay in group 3.

You bring up a valid point but here is why I think USA brought in their B squad to this tournament. What if USA sent their A team and a few of their key players GOT INJURED? That would of screwed them over for the world cup qualfiying. You see USA already got what they wanted the US qualified for the Confederation Cup in 2009.

You see by bringing in the B team and letting them play top teams it will add a lot of depth to your bench. The WCQ is grueling what if one of your guys get's injured, or what if he picks up two yellow cards and woudn't be elligable for the next game? Well at least now you can GO TO YOUR BENCH and at least hang in there.

I think that is why USA sent in their B team.

I don't think injuries have anything to do with the B teams being sent, mainly because it's not likely they will get injured, and if they do... so what? The worst case scenario would be a broken leg, and that's highly unlikely, plus there aren't any major competitions for a long while which would even give aplayer with a broken leg time to get back to form. And plus it's the Copa America, which is perfect practise for a NT squad to train and win a prize worth risking injury for.

I don't know, or frankly care about the US squad, but i do know Ronaldinho and Kaka were rested for their clubs and are specifically taking time off to train and rest for the next season with Milan and Barca.

Tell you the truth even with their A team it would of been a tall task for USA to qualify. Not that USA is bad but this is perhaps the toughest group. You have four good team sin that group Argentina, Paraguay, Columbia, and US. When the weakest team for USA is Columbia you know that is a tough grouop. Compare that to Venezuela, Bolivia Peru and the other team I forget. You see there is also a difference man and quite frankly if you erace USA and insert in Iran I don't think we would of done any better with our full squad.

lol... I don't care if we would have lost 10-0 to Argentina, just playing against them is enough.
