btw yashar jan, i actually don't think these should be live report threads - what do u say? i thought these threads were to mostly discuss the matches before hand, and probably afterward too + get info on times/tv channels/various other things for the AC

He's not playing, or at least I don't see him

Iraqi player looks seriously hurt, he landed quite awkwardly from an aerial challenge

but of course he gets up and starts walking lol

            72nd minute
andd double substitution for the thais...no idea who they are lol

yeah guys lets keep these threads clean of live reports for that the ones who are interested are more than welcome to open a specific thread (for each game). otherwise we going to end up with very unorganized threads here.

i suggest; live reports (not related to iran game) to be posted in the international forum.

              thanks

yup, we will need a seperate live report thread.

btw, is hawar mulla mohammad playing for iraq? he is very skillful and along with nashat akram, their best player.

he was zandi's team mate in cyprus, now he plays in al ain.

when he came on the field as a sub during WAFF, he was really pressurizing our B team! i dunno why he doesnt start though

both were playing yashar jan, neither did too much.

Akram was skillful, but at times held onto the ball too much, and was generally slow (actually, everyone was slow)

This really begs the question WHY did AFC choose 4 incredibly humid countries who really aren't even B-quality Asian sides to host the Asian Cup??? There is going to be slow, boring football - that's my prediction.

well, i guess AFC is trying to promote football all across asia and has to give a chance to the different parts of asia to host the cup.

last time it was in UAE in 96, it was hot and humid too.

i just hope iran is ready for such conditions! good news is we will be playing relatively easier teams by the time we get used to this weather conditions.

my thoughts on this game. first half was all iraq. iraq was by far the better team in the first half. the first half was very exciting and a good half. thaland was awarded a controversial penalty. Other than that call the ref was pretty good. the second half both teams were slow. very boring. ball was mostly in the midfield, although thailand played much better. The score line was very fair. first half iraq won and dominated. second half thailand was the better team and the score was a tie. This was a great result for australia and oman. whoever wins tomorrow has a very good shot of advancing.
Both teams were not very classy and very slow. Iraq had more talented players and are a bettter team. If they had played as well as they had in teh first half they could have won.
I don't know if the weather and conditioning of the iraqis was the reason for their dismal second half. It reminded me of iran and mexico in the wc. although iran's first half was much better than iraq and iran's second half was also much worse.

first half was very exciting. a good display of football.
second half was up to par with third division villages of ethiopia. really hard to watch and extremely boring. horrible passing and ball stuck in midfield. very slow game
