Iraq coach Jorvan Vieira has confirmed that he will quit the team after Sunday's Asian Cup final with Saudi Arabia and also revealed that he has been talking to the Korean Football Association.

Pim Verbeek is currently in charge of the Taeguk Warriors but speculation is growing that he may resign after the team’s semi-final exit against Iraq.

Vieira could be in line to take over.

"Yes, I will quit after the match against Saudi Arabia," Vieira told AFP.

"I've already taken that decision. It was an opportunity for me to be at the Asian Cup."

The 54 year-old Brazilian who signed only a two-month contract with the finalists, added that South Korea is a possible destination.

"The Korean federation contacted me," he said. "If we can work out terms there is the potential that I can become the Korean coach sometime in the future.

"After the tournament we will discuss details."
