    a great defender retires

    Another sad day for Azzurri...

But I expected that. Both Totti and Nesta have been struggling with severe injuries for years.

They are idols. Both of them are among the bests in the world. Nesta had been the best defender in the world for years.

Wish him best of luck with Milan.

Any word on his replacement. Will it be Materazzi or a footballer who doesn't intentionally try to injure players?
The REAL. The LEGEND. Since 2001.

Well I respect the fact that he is at least retiring with dignity. At lesat he didn't try to squeez the team and hold on and piss off an entire nation(hint hint). As much as I"m not a fan of Italian football they should be fine it's better to move on and prepare now. I'm sure they are in no shortage of awesome players to take his place my friend.

I'm glad Shah died with dignity instead of waiting and pissing a whole nation off!!!

Here you go again! Sherwin jan, gooz be shaghighe che rabti dareh? We are talking about Nesta and not anyone else. That person you are talking about is now a hero and a figure of legecy in Iran! Now, everyone is pointing at those losers who wanted to kick him out of TM that "see! that's what you wanted, you deserve the likes of Khatibi and Shit Enayati." I think it's enough talking about it.

On the topic, I think Nesta and Totti decisions were wrong and kind of selfish, but considering their injuries and loads of games they have to play during a season, I respect that. They could still help Italy for the Euro08. But, I think Italy has lots of other good and young players who can shine and become Tottis and Nestas.

that's right. Barzagli is good, Bonera is good too, but Marco is a beast! He never played nasty for Italy. He is just an ass when he plays for Inter, which is natural! cuz Inter is an ass team!

Nesta played 76 games for Azzurri. 76 excellent games. I'll miss him very much. He is the most unlucky player in the tournaments.

i think he feels bad because he didnt play.. and then italia won the world cup.. he propbably feels the team is better without him.. even though he would never come out and say it but i think thats a major reason why he is doing this, italians are proud people dont forget
