if philadelphia's players play their best consistently, they will be one of the top teams in the NBA. Iverson is the best player, Iguadala is one of the best above the rim players, webber is one of the best high post players, korver is one of the best shooters, and Dalembert, according to the rankings, IS the best blocker. But the problem is, only iverson does what he is capable of on a regular basis. The other ones, only one or two step up per game, and when more than that step up, they usually rout the opponent.

ok, right now, iverson had 15 in the first quarter and had two more the first play of the 2nd quarter, shooting 70 %. the next 3 shots were taken by other people, and now iverson is getting a breather, whereas kobe would still be shooting every time he touches it.

and korver and c webb are missing everything. again, inconsistency.

damn, we lost in OT cause iguadala and c-webb couldnt hit a free through in OT and our big men fouled out early in the fourth. See, as i said before the game started, usually only one or two players other than iverson stepped up. Today, it was webber with 32 points, 11 rebounds, 4 steals, a great game. Now, the others:

Korver: 1 for 8 shooting, no free throws, awful
Dalembert: 10 points, 7 boards, only one block, not very good
Iguadala: only 11 points, didnt come through in the clutch
Salmons, a starter: 5 points, 1 rebound, 0 assists, 2 turnovers, 0 steals, 4 fouls. Doesnt get too much worse than that

Now Iverson: 38 points, 15 assists. Thats right, 15. Lets put that into perspective.

        38 points
15 assists x 2 = 30. About 4 assists were to 3 balls, so 34. There was a couple and 1's he assisted, so 36. twice the player got fouled after recieving it from iverson, and hit the free throughts, so 40.

        40+30 = 70

He contributed to 70 points in tonights game, only 15 less than kobe on the "legendary" night. And its just another night at the office for allen iverson, its nothing new. Tomorrow, probably the 3rd or 4th headline down will read:

"Sixers fall short in OT despite effort from AI"

        tsk, tsk, tsk

          NYC,
i know you don t like Kobe, and neither do I, and yes he is sometimes a ball HOG..But I actually downloaded that game and watched it.
He did take that many shots and you can say that is ball hog, BUT
his team was down almost 20, all the other players were completely shit, like his helper Lamar Odom who was absolutely terrible. So I think there is no other way but to sometimes carry the team yourself. Everyone was horrible in the 1st half but Kobe and those players had their chances, but they were down and they had nothing to lose and Kobe carried them. So 45 shots are alot but, I just don t see any other way the Lakers would have had a chance to win that game.

Yeah you're right. I like Kevin Garnett after Iverson, the best power forward IMO.

by your logic, there has hardly been any amazing perfomances by a player in 60 years of nba history.
