i think time will be the judge of that...

granted they more soundly beat our common opponent, but I do not think they're more talented/better coached than Cal.

read post #169. I saw this comin last week in the middle of the BYU game

                    1) The QB is horrible. He is a stiff and is not mobile. If he was playing last year we wouldnt have beaten usc.

                    2) half the DL and DT were injured last week and were out of action this week.

                    3) we were outcoached which is not that hard to believe given dorrel aint that good

                    4) the main recruits this year I mean the 5 star ones who were suppose to get instant playing time are either suspended or out by season ending injury before the season even started

                    5) turnovers!! especially the one, one inch behind the end zone!!

Basically I wont be surprised if ucla finishes the season with a losing record unless patrick cowan becomes the starting QB again. In today's college football you dont need pro style QBs you need mobile ones like kordell stewart, tommy frazier and michael vick. Cowan is not like them but is not a statue like ben olson either!!

i agree, today's defensive linemen arent like in the past that cant move for shit, these guys are big but they're fast and quick! so QBs gotta be able to be on the move and juke a couple guys

That's why I hae USC at the top of my poll. Hey I might go to UCLA but I"m not biased. Actually I cheered for usc all of my life until about a month ago because now I go to UCLA's MBA school. It feels weird not cheering for USC anymore. You guys hae one hell of a team man they straight up dominated Nebraska in Lincoln. I think LSU might have the better defense but USC has the best overall team.

By the way Persian Bruin and I were bout saying all along we need to start Cowan. Ben Olsen is just too one dimensional. He locks in on his primary wide receiver, and if that wr is covered, he will have a problem completing the pass. I don't know why people are so high on this kid? Sure he did great at high school with Thousand Oaks(I believe) but this is college ball.

Cowan is more mobile and just seems to have that killer instinct that Olsen laks. I seriously hope Cowan starts next week for UCLA and thsi is a wake up call. Hey a tleast it was a non conference loss so that is the only positive I can take out of this humiliating loss.

you are 18 and you go to USC?? Boy are you wasting your money or what!!!! I actually have more friends who are usc grads than ucla grads and except one of them who paid out her own pocket everyone else was on scholarship. I used to tutor math to sc students during the summer. Undergrad level, they are waaay less talented than the avg ucla student. No wonder its called the "university of second choice".

For your info the five years that I was at UCLA (94 till 98)we beat SC each and every year. Not bad for a basketball school. Afterall thats what we mainly are besides the 121 national championships ofcourse

P.S.Let me know if you wanna borrow a copy of last year's football game that cost you the national championship game berth. I guess its still burnin your ...

Ah take it easy on the kid USC is a decent school, but it's just not up to par with UCLA. Anyways guess who is 3-0? Michigan State University eeked out another nail bighting defensive ball game. What sealed it for us was our interception TO THE HOUSE. MSU 17 Pitt 13.

I hope we keep it going and beat ND next week. I know ND is 0-3 but there is a lot of history between these two schools. MSU holds the current streak of most wins in a row at South Bend. The number is at 5 wins in a row against ND in South Bend, and I expect them to kae it 6. This is a payback game and this time ND doesn't have Brady Quinn. MSU has a nasty defense and two good tailbacks, so ND better have an extra chin strap ready.

                              THe SPARTANS ARE COMMING!!!!

Thats why i went off!! in a different thread a guy who has never posted on such an old thread like this one comes and sounds off like this. I just dont appreciate it. We all root for different teams but so far have managed to keep a positive atmosphere here. all of a sudden a first timer goes in an unrelated thread and starts trash talkin

as for MSU I am sure they will go 4-0 next week. Big ten will be interesting in the last few weeks for sure
