Props on bringing up Ben Mahdavi! I was going to bring him up, but I couldn't for the life of me remember his last name. I just remember he was #41 quite good -- he was All Conference his senior year as co-captain, lead UW in tackles, and started on that great team which went to the Rose Bowl in....2000?

As you say, it was awesome to see a MAHDAVI and a HOUSHMANDZADEH starring on the same field.

Bizarrely, both of them had Iranian fathers who left their families when they were growing up.

(then again, if their Babas had been involved they would never have seen an athletic field )

Ben Mahdavi somehow made it to an NFL team, signing with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2003. He got seriously injured early and was waived, but it was quite an accomplishment for a kid who started as a freshman walk-on at UW.
Dam I'll say that is one hell of an accomplishment. I had a walk on opportunity at MSU but that was back in 2000 and that aas when they had a good team. You know I was not going ot get ANY PLAYING TIME because we had Charles Rodgers and Plaxico Burress(SP?)
Note Charles Rodgers was a bust drafted #2 by the Det Lions but injuries and drug carges killed his career. He could of been one of the best wr's ever but he had an attitude problem.
Plax on the other hand is having a decent career now is NY Giant's primary WR. He is not as tallented as Charles Rodgers skill wise, but he at leats has some work ethic.

I will bet you that this guy must of had one hell of a motivation and a work ethic to make it to the NFL AS A WALK ON. Most of these guys who make it ot hte NFL are like high school stars and ranked #1 or #2 in their position.

Yeah I was agreeing with you . We need to schedule some tougher non-conference opponents. I'm still hopeful a few teams ahead of us end up with one loss and we run the table.

I remember that 2000 game when they were both on the same field but not because of the reason you just said but because it was my first time at a HOOTERS restaurant The one in santa monica

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!! Cowan will start as QB this week

Also, 5 star blue chip DT freshman Brian Price who USC was doing back flips to get him to play for SC is finally eligible and will play. However, with all the other injuries I dont know if it will make a difference!

Well Cowan gives UCLA the best shot to win because he is much more mobile than Olsen. The only problem is that Washington has a very good QB Locker. Man that kid is something special he kind of reminds me of Michigan States former QB Drew Stanton in a way. He doesn't have a Jamarcus Russel type arm, or a Michael Vick like speed, but he is not weak in one area. Those are very tough qb's to defend.

Now what are the other injuries who got injured in the Utah game? The key to this game is to minimilize Locker for UCLA. You are not going to completely shut him down, not even Ohio State could do that.

Well out of those stadiums I have been to Michigan State, when they played against Rice back when Bobby Williams was their head coach(God have mercy on us he was terrible). I have seen some stadiums outside of course when I was going on a nice road trip with my dad. Out of the Big 10 schools I have seen all the stadiums but Ohio State and Penn State because they were out of the way.
My Big 10 Stadium Rankings that I have seen (No Ohio St or Penn ST)
                Michigan
                Michigan State
                Wisconsin
                Illonios
                Iowa
                Purdue
                Indiana
                Purdue
                Northwestern

*Minnesota doesn't count in my book because that is an NFL stadium where the Vikings play.

I always was a fan of the Big 10 so I always wanted to see the stadiums outside. My father for six months was relocated to Tere Haute(Sp?) Indiana, where Indiana State is located. The only stadium out of the way was South Bend(Notre Dame Stadium) but I always wanted to visit the campus.

I'm not trying ot be a homer here but I would say the most beautiful campus in the Big 10 is Michigan State. Seriously I have not seen Ohio State or Penn State, so I can't comment on their schools but from what I have seen, nothing beats MSU so far.

The funny thing is I have only been to two Pac 10 Stadiums.

I was amazed at how beautiful the campus at Michigan State is. It's also HUGE I can see how someone could get lost at MSU. I always thought my dad was biased and blowing smoke, but when I visited the campus both in 1995(When Tony Banks QB MSU shocked Meechingan in East Lancing) and in(Smoker to Duckett in the last second touchdown, in the famous "clock game"), I was amazed at the beauty of the campus. I forgot which year that was I think it was 2001 if I"m not mistaken because 2002 we fired Bobby Williams for going 4-8. Not only I was amazed at the beauty of the campus, but the girls were just drop dead gorgeous. I guess my dad was not blowing smoke there either.

I always wanted to go to MSU but the out of state tuition is just too much. I went to Cal Poly instead but hey I"m not complaining because at the end of the day a degree is a degree.

I always wanted to go watch an OSU Michigan game either at the horseshoe or the big hole. Well at least now I know that if I"n in Columbus I have a connection. If you are ever in Los Angeles you can stop by and we can go to two historical stadiums the Rose Bowl and the LA Coleseum.

Today we are going to have a good game between Texas A&M vs Miami.
Shahouman TAMU has this fat running back his last name is Lane. This kid is listed at 260 but everyone says he is closer to 300 lbs. Not only that but he is quick for such a big guy. They have this 1-2 punch because they have another running back who is more of a speed back.

Don't be surprised of TAMU rushes for over 250 yards. Miami has been just horrible especially on offense. They are starting a new QB, I think he is a freshman, Kyle Wright(SP?). It might not be such a bad idea for them because at least next year he will have some experience. Let the kid take his lumps this year.

On another note it's amazing to see Florida State and Miami, once football powerhouse teams, fall off the face of the earth. I would of never thought in my wildest dreams that USF is the 2nd best team in Florida behind the gators.
