Remember bro recruiting is one thing but how those kids play in crunch time is anohter. There is nothing that can replace SENIOR LEADERSHIP I don't care how many 5 star recruits you have. Again Florida has a shot but I just don't see them repeating. Remember now they have the bullseye on their back jsut ask USC what that feels like. Finally on their 3rd year run Texas knocked them out. The USC situation is different though because their 2nd run they had a lot of key players returning like Leinart and Bush.
I think Florida will win the SEC East but they will lose to LSU in the SEC championship game.
Your right about Moody, but next season, Percy, Tebow, and Moody will all be juniors, and will have had alot of big game experiance, as will all the other new starters this year. And we have huge factor, Urban Meyer. One of the best college coachers.

USC still has a bull's eye on there back and I highly doubt they will make it to the national title game. They will lose at least 3 games this year I think.

I am now a UCLA bruin now that I am going to their graduate business school, but even I know that USC will not lose three games bro. They are returning a team that won the rosebowl last year, and they added tallent with recruiting. The only possible loss I can see is USC @ Cal. All of the rest of the games should be a cakewalk for USC. They are playing UCLA home and Oregon is not even in USC's level. The only team that can match USC in terms of tallent is Cal and USC is playing them away, so there is a possibility they lose right there. I'm not even going to talk about Notre Dame they had their best shot last year with Brady Quinn. I don't care if we are playing in South Bend ND is going to suck this year makr my words they will probalby probably barely make it to a bowl game.

You are talking about Urban Meyer which is a huge factor but what about Pete Carroll, hands down the best coach in all of college football? Even UCLA fans know that my friend Pete Carroll is simply the best college coach in teh country. He will have his Trojans ready to take a nice title run.

The only weakness with USC is the WR spot perticularly losing Dwayne Jarrett(Sp?) and Steve Smith their #1 and #2 WR last year. Other than that USC has a stacked team and I am expecting them to be in the national championship game.

Now I have a new team to cheer for and that's UCLA. I got season tickets and since my dad got laid off I am going to surprise him with some season tickets. It's going to be weid because I would always cheer for MSU and USC. Now I have MSU, USC, and UCLA as my teams but my heart truly belongs to the Spartans of Michigan State!
I even had some college football scholarship offeres one school was SAN JOSE STATE by the way. The other schools were SDSU, IU, and Northwestern. I decided to hang up my cleats though and focus on academics.
        what position did you play?

College football is a thousand times more entertaining that the NFL but the thing that turns me off is the bowl system. Its so convulted and everyone ends up arguing whose better even when the seasons finished! If theyd just use a damn playoff system like everybody wants. Greedy Ass college heads...

WR and ROLB I played both wasy bro but in the college game I was recruited more as a WR. There aren't too many 6" 190 lb linebackers in college. I ended up saying no to college football because it takes up all ofnyour time dude. That is why it is so hard to study and play college fotoball at the same time, and that is why most players major in something easy like communications.

By the way dude I totally agree with you man about the college system being wacked. Noke is trying to make an eilite 8 tournament which will pin the 8 best teams in the country in a playoff format. We can get rid of those stupid BCS games, and still keep those bowl games for the samller schools. That way we can have an 8 team playoff system and it will be fair to everyone.

Another idea would be to have the +1 system that most people like. You have the top 4 teams in a playoffs and you jsut play one extra game. At leat you end up killing any doubt as to which team is #1. Come on Division one college football is the only college sport without a playoff system? THEY EVEN HAVE A PLAYOFF SYSTEM IN DIVISION 1AA 2, AND 3!

College football season kicks off today all times Pacific Standard Time
              4:00Pm ESPN 2 Tulsa @ Louisana Monroe
4 PM CSTV Tennessee Tech @ Eastern Illinois
5:00PM ESPN LSU @ Mississippi State

I think the best game will be LSU @ Mississippi St. Now if history is any indication LSU should have no problems with Mississippi St. In fact the last time Mississippi St beat LSU, I was still a senior in high school it was 1999 and MSU beat LSU 17-16. In the last seven games the combined score was LSU Tigers 295, MSU Bulldogs 81. One word comes to my mind OWNED!

That was the first time a #1 met the #2 team and it was the last game in east lancing. ND chickened out and made the extra kick instead of going for the 2 point conversion. The coash Ara Parsegian later on admited "MSU's defense would of stuffed us if we went for it."
I had an opportunity to go as a walk on at MSU but I didn't want to take the risk man. I took a partial academic scholarship to Cal Poly.I always wanted to go to State but out of state tuition was $45,000!

The University of Michigan was about the same price as well for out of state tuition. For that price hell I could gone to Stanford or Harvard!

and lets not forget there are more expenses that come on the side. housing, food, transportation and etc. this sucks why education has to be so expensive? they always brag about that in future there will be a high demand for more college graduate students then ever before, but here they are raising the prices like almost every school year, that's not cool
i know they offer like financial aid, scholarships and so on, but why raise the bar that you have to give a person a lift to reach the bar when they can't effort it. they are just making it harder for them selves, am i right?

Interesting man well I hope you have a good game my friend good luck. HS Football is pure I loved playing it and we were quite good. Our team was ranked #1 in the nation MVHS, but when I got there as a Junior we were not that good. Our Junior year we built the foundation going 13-1 losing in the souther section Division one California Championship.(We have such a big state we have two sections). Our senior year we killed ourselves in the offseason because we belived we had a great team. Well we beat everyone and got the #1 state and nation ranking.

By the way I agree with all of your pics.

Doing some NCAA Saturday channel surfing today, I caught the kickoff of the Wazzu-Wisconsin and saw this chunky looking dude....

                          WSU Player Bio: Romeen Abdollmohammadi

The ESPN broadcasters (Brad Nessler & Co.) were joking about how they were able to fit that last name on the back of his jersey - and it did looked hilarious!

I always find a Persian kid playing somewhere in PAC-10 every couple of years.

Washington State used to have a Persian starting linebacker kid named Payam Saadat, all-county player from Orange County I think.

I also ran into the Colorado-ColoSt tussle in Denver, and I got thinking to another Persian LB who used to play for the Rams a couple years back. He also came out of a high school in the O.C.

Hmmm, I think I'm gonna compile a list of Persian NCAAF players soon. Or I might get SI's Arash Markazi to do it instead

That's right it's all about the Pac 10 baby. I grew up a big 10 fan too because of MSU. Now that I go to UCLA they are my new adopted team.

I TOLD YOU MICHIGAN IS OVERRATED!!!!! Appalachian St. upends No. 5 Michigan in one of the biggest upsets in football history

Oh what a great college football weekend. I bought my pops a nice 12 pack of Newcastle beer for the Michigan State UAB game. The spread was 14 points but I have a buddy who goes to UAB who decided to go straight up with me. Well I quickly pounced on that bet and won $300! I love college football saturday.

12 pack of Newcastle beer $15
