tressel reminds us all of woody...and woody hated michigan so much rumor has it his car ran out of gas in michigan a mile from the border and he pushed it to ohio so that he wouldnt get gas in michigan to pay for their state taxes loool i kno i kno rumor, probably not true but still funny
but he actually did practice the team 3 days a week for their upcoming game, 2 days a week for Michigan

Woody would never say "We are playing agianst Michigan." He would always say "We are playing against the team up North." I hear that Woody Hayes was actually a very nice man despite his crazy on the field antics like punching that Clemson kid in that bowl game. My fathers friend went to Ohio State in the Woody Era.

Jim (my dads friend) was from California he never experienced Ohio winters before. He was in a shirt and shorts because it seemed liek a nice day. Well HE had to go from campus to his dorm and was walking, and there waw a blizzard. A car appraches him and it was none other than Woody Hayes himsef. He said, "Son get in the car you'll catch a cold." Jim said, "thank you sir I live on the other side of campus I didn't know it was going to be this cold I"m from LA." Woody, "Oh LA that explains it all but still I"m not going to let you freez to death son, next time please wear a jacket!"

RIP to Woody Hayes that is the kind of gentleman he really was.

I"m going with the Hokies as well only because I HATE LSU! Final score defensive battle here my prediction LSU 17-VT 14. Expect someone to score on a special teams play ie blocked kick, or a defensive touchdown ie pick to the house. Both teams have a physical ground and pound offense, and rely on defense to win. This would be like an old school 80's Bo Shembekler Michigan vs Woody Hayes Ohio State throwback defensive slobber knocker my friends, so strap on yoru helmets and expect some HITS!

Another good game to watch would be a big 10- pac 10 battle Oregon @ Michigan. Can the Wolverines bounce back after an embarassing loss to App State? I think that them losing to APP is going to give them all the motivation in the world to beat Oregon. I have never seen Michigan lose two consecutive games at the Big House.

Nah, VT has to much to play for and I don't see them losing, even at Baton Rouge. VT wins it 27-17.

ive worked w/ some patients who played for woody, he was a great great man, i hav a newspaper clipping on my wall from the columbus dispatch the day after he did the graduation speech at OSU in the 80s and he said the greatest thing, something along the lines of "at this point, there's too much u could do to pay back all those who helped u get here.....instead, pay forward by doing for others what they've done for u"

his gravesite is also like 5min from my old hood and the night before the mich game people go to his grave to pay their respects to him, he is a big big name in Columbus and a true legend

Oregon is actually decent bro I think they are kind of underrated this year. Hey if you remember a few years back Oregon sent shock waves beating Michigan in Eugne. I think Michigan is going to win this one but Oregon is not going to be a pushover. Michigan has problems with teams that like to spread it out and pass on them because their rush D is so good. Oregon has a chance because they like to spread it out and air it out that is Mike Belloti's style(HC Oregon).

Actually my buddy was a back up QB under Joey Harrington but he switched to LB because he wnated to get playing time. I actually went up to to Oregon and watch some home games because he hooked up tickets and I had a place to stay, so I kind of like the ducks.

I think one time the country was in a recession and the President at the time said, "Don't ask your boss for a raise our country is in a recession." I think Woody just took his team to the rosebowl that year and the athletic director at the time offered him a raise, and WOODY TURNED HIM DOWN. That is the kind of man he was the guy had a genuine love for his country.

Now in the 60's when there was a huge civil rights movement going on, the only adult figure that the students respected, black or white, was Woody Hayes. If the students would start protesting and disturbing other students from studying, Woody would convince them to stop protesting. The cool thing is that they had so much respect for Woody that they would listen and stop.

My dad got to meet Woody when MSU plaeyd against OSU back from 1966-1970. Woody foundout in 1966 that MSU had an Iranian kicker(who happened to be my dad). After the game Woody personally took some time AFTER MSU WON, to talk to my dad. Woody basically said, "I want to welcome you to America I hope you enjoy our country while you are here."

My dad said to me, "Son that brief talk with Mr. Hayes made all the difference in the world."

That is the kind of man Woody Hayes was

Can do man no problem. I'm looking forward to next weeks match up between USC @Nebraska. Now normally Nebraska doesn't stand a prayer but you never know when you are playing on the road. USC last year lost to UCLA and Oregon St on the road, but of course this will be their first test for this year. This will be good indicator to see if USC is #1.
