When you make a comment like "UCLA admit (sic) the dumbest ppl only because they're poor or they had a disabled brother," it doesn't really reflect well on you. Institutions (especially PUBLIC) of higher learning have a moral commitment to our society to educate the entire population. Diversity provides students the ability to actually befriend a person coming from a different background...and that by itself is edifying. It's shocking to know that people in South Central actually think that a person's financial or personal situation has no impact on made up numbers like the SAT or GPA.
If UCLA and Cal did not admit a variety of students-who for reasons beyond their own control - were unable to demonstrate 'intelligence' on an exam, they wouldn't be Cal and UCLA.
Some private institutions really do not demonstrate this policy and that's why they're filled with rich White students who couldn't didn't get into any IVYs and generally anything better than UCD and a few African-Americans on football scholarships.
p.s. "U will find a lot more stupid ppl in UCLA than at USC?" well yes...my trojan genius...they have 3-4 times as many students as you do. This would also mean that they have more intelligent people than you do as well. Once again explaining why Cal and less so UCLA are known nationally for their academic strengths rather than their athletic abilities.

I am realistic and I am honest. I would never say UCLA is better than cal in academics. If I ever did shoot me!!
The most telling stat in the US news rankings about UCLA and USC is the "what % of the students were amongst top 10% of their HS class" UCLA used to be higher than cal now in the latest rankings I noticed cal is higher. But overall they both have been clearly above the other universities since 1995 which was when I started looking at the rankings.
USC keeps on bragging about SAT scores. Its just one exam and with all the fraudulnt activities (like people gettin a doctors note to say they have ADD and get 1.5 more time than the other students) its not that hard for a rich SC kid to ace the SATs. Places like UCLA and CAL look at your everyday performence for 4 years. Something that will tell the univ what your character is and how smart you are on A DAILY BASIS.
You like USC more ?? good for you.
You don't like UCLA?? even better!! I can respect that but dont say USC kids are smarter!! Thats just pretty dumb. Look at walmat rich kid paige who got her degree by paying her roomates like 20,000 $ to do her projects and homeworks. I know an IRANIAN who got her degree from USC like that.
I got into CAL to but I didnt go there because I wanted to stay in so cal even more so it was because that I had been a bruin fan years before even picking my college. But I would never ever say UCLA is better than cal. It was just my choice!----1990 TM, You will always have a special place in our hearts

By the way I also got into Cal and Stanford as well but I wanted to stay in So Cal just like you. As far as MBA I think for once UCLA Anderson passed Haas Business School(CAL). If not they are neck and neck my friend. I too am realistic jsut like you and I would never say that UCLA is better than Cal, but they are both very comparable. I also know plenty of poeple from Cal Poly who were able to get accepted into a masters program at USC, but they coudn't get into UCLA. That should tell you something right there. Everyone will tell you it is tougher to get into UCLA than USC.
Anyways all three are good schools but enough about academics this is a COLLEGE FOOTBALL FORUM not a College Academic forum.

If u count undergrads it's around 16000 as opposed to 25000 which is not a huge difference since they're public and we're private.
I don't know where u got the 3-4 times thing.
Oh and USC is known for it's diversity. 1 of the most diverse universities. At UCLA u only find either whites or asians (persians too ). Plus more people at USC are on financial aid than at UCLA u can go check it out so don't talk all that crap about USC being for spoilt rich kids (this is aimed at persianbruin i didnt want to make a new post, lol)

Now I love to read a solid, intelligient, humorous flame-war over college rivalries -- especially amongst the PAC-10 schools which are a rich part of our Iranian-American culture -- but lets just make it a separate thread. This one has become too bloated already.
Cool? Cool.

By the way my upset special
Michigan over Penn State.
Most people have the Wolverines as dead men walking, but I think they will beat Penn St at the big house. That win against ND might give them enough confidence to pull the upset. They still have a very good offense with Chad Hennee, Mario Manningman, Mike Hart, and OT Jake Long, along with a sold o line. Now Michigan does a great job moving from the 20 to the other 20, but they coudn't capitalize once they moved into the RED ZONE. That all changed against ND and I think they got their grove back.
Also, Joe Paterno is known as a conservative coach. Sometimes it is easier to preare agiant a conservative coach, especially when the coach on the other side of the ball, LLOYD CARR, is also a known conservative. I say Michigan wins in a close defnesive battle 20-17. One thing I learned is that you NEVER COUNT MICHIGAN OUT.
In 1988 they started the season 0-2 and won the Big 10 making it to the Rose Bowl. In 1998 the same thing they were 0-2 again, and they made it to the Rose Bowl. The Big 10 is not that strong this year so Michigan has as good as a chance as anyone to win this.
I hate Michigan as you guys all known but I woudn't be surpirsed if the Wolverines STEAL ONE.

BTW there was this guy who played at Udubb a few years ago right about when houshmandzadeh was at oregon st. and his name was Ben mahdavi
Props on bringing up Ben Mahdavi! I was going to bring him up, but I couldn't for the life of me remember his last name. I just remember he was #41 quite good -- he was All Conference his senior year as co-captain, lead UW in tackles, and started on that great team which went to the Rose Bowl in....2000?
As you say, it was awesome to see a MAHDAVI and a HOUSHMANDZADEH starring on the same field.
Bizarrely, both of them had Iranian fathers who left their families when they were growing up.
(then again, if their Babas had been involved they would never have seen an athletic field )
Ben Mahdavi somehow made it to an NFL team, signing with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2003. He got seriously injured early and was waived, but it was quite an accomplishment for a kid who started as a freshman walk-on at UW.
