i'm nervous about tomorrow's game...but oregon isn't going to 'tear' anything apart.
    1) By saying this you are already admitting you can't beat SC in berkeley this year. Not a good attitude if you are asking me. You guys are waay more talented than we were a year ago and we kicked their (john david) booty.

    2) I know Cal has not been that good in over a decade so you might not have had enough experience with this so I am gonna clue you in. Its about money and only money. Its the same reason we dont have a playoff system. Its the same reason ND has been to bowl games they didnt deserve to be in ( hence having not won even one bowl game since 1994). Therefore a Cal appearance is not a gaurantee

Well there's a difference between being realistic and not being confident. It's a fine line, I agree, but when making assumptions for bowl games you have to be realistic.

UCLA won 13-9? not a big 'kicking of booty.' That 66-19...now that was an ass kicking.

Cal has not been to the Rose Bowl in 54 years. There is a huge alumni network itching to shell out dough to see that happen.

66-19 didnt cost us a thing. 13-9 cost them a national championship!! There is the difference. Also forget about the score. What I meant was we kicked the a****. The game was a defensive battle and everytime they got the ball their a**** were on the ground. It was a very physical game

Also they put up the 66 points against a defense that ranked 112th in the nation at the time. Big F'n deal! Too bad they couldnt do it against texas which cost them another antional championship.

Talkin about 66 points and texas, a few weeks ago was the 10th anniversary of UCLA going to austin and beat the long horns and rickie williams 66-3. God I miss those days.

I see that the USC Trojans are the No. 1-ranked college football team in the preseason polls. Who would argue with them? You sort of have to give USC whatever they want for fear of retribution. Since the Raiders cleared out of Los Angeles faster than Mark Fuhrman left the Million Man march, the Trojans have been the resident pro football team.

I stand in awe at Pete Carroll's ability to reload, and re-field a football team. But the true target of my admiration involving all USC students has to be the USC parents. I don't understand how these parents shell out hundreds of thousands of dollars for their kids to go to school in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods around.
Have you seen the movie Boyz N the Hood? Training Day? Menace To Society? All of these "uplifting" stories about inner city life were filmed a few hundred yards from the USC library. USC is located in South Central Los Angeles. Yikes! No wonder so many scholarships go to football players. They're the only ones who can properly defend themselves if they leave campus. All the neighborhoods near campus are divided between the Crips, Bloods and Trojans.

Sorry, David Eckstein. But we're betting Little Leaguer Mitch Lomax might be able to kick your butt. (Gene J. Puskar / Associated Press)

Who goes to college? Young, impressionable teenagers with a hunger to explore their new surroundings. Yeah, have fun exploring the bars around campus at USC! Be sure to bring a can of mace and track shoes. You might be safer checking out the local watering holes in Baghdad.
Lol ok the area is not so good but what's wrong with the campus? I go walking around at 3 am it's very safe on campus. We have a very nice campus too.

That was one hell of a game man. I was watching such a great game #23 Michigan State (4-1) @ #9 Wisconsin. The final score was a thriller and sadly for my part, MSU lost 34-37 to Wisconsin. There is no such thing aas a moral victory, but they palyed a fanatastic game, and they improved night and day since last year. Both teams gained over 500 yards of offense it was a very exciting game. The Spartans should win their next two against Northwestern and Indiana(BOTH HOME GAMES and go 6-1).

BIG 10 They look even weaker than last year. If there is one good team in that conference is OSU and even that is remained to be seen. I am happy wisc. is undefeated though(nothin personal sherwin) since my brother went there.

SEC I am still convinced one leg of the championship game will be from there but mostly because nobody else is any good.

BIG 12 and ACC U kiddin me??

PAC 10 For sure the winner of the SC cal game will be in the championship game. As I told headcou. CAL has a realistic chance of beating SC this year. They are a great team with a lot of dimensions and speed. They are playing the trojans in Berkeley and I am not saying bear fans should be wishful. Just be realistic. You have agreat team and SC contrary to what Jim harbaugh believes aint that good this year. I mean comapred to the last few years of SC teams ofcourse. They are still a top 4 team nationally.

People who thought oregon was going to "tear it up" are basically giving Big 10 a lot of credit. Oregon is clearly the third best team in the conference but just because they demolished UM in ann arbour it doesnt mean they are the best in the PAC 10. CAL and USC are class of the pac 10 and the winner will be most probably undefeated and be headed to the BCS championship game.

UCLA They are fielding a different team every week and the offense looks like a high school football team. OSU self destructed in the 4th quarter where ucla scored 4 touchdowns. The play callin is too predictable and not that good. I'll be grateful if we finish 4th or 5th in the conference. Can't wait until the next years monster recruiting class comes to westwood

That was a funny post at Foxsports.com, but in all fairness it's not really accurate.

Yes, the LA Coliseum is located in a...ummm...rather volatile area where white suburban folk should watch their backs. (It's not called The House That O.J. Built for nuthin', ya know )

But USC's main campus area isn't dangerous at all. It's actually lively and interesting - very much of a taste of 'real' flavor or LA, as opposed to the plastic Beverly Hills stuff found around our beloved Westwood. I mean Vestvood.

It's actually funny that the author refers to movies like Boyz N Tha Hood and such - accomplished directors like John Singleton and George Lucas polished their filmmaking skills at USC's School of Cinema & Television, which I would rate just slightly ahead of UCLA's TFT school. For the moment.

I had a gf who was an SC student back in 97 when I myself was in westwood. She had a great body and I always jokingly used to tell her it was because she was running away from the thugs!! I agree with you that the campus itself is safe because of walls and security but please dont tell me its a beautiful campus!! I mean I used to think it was ugly because I was spoiled by the breath taking beauty of UCLA but then I paid a visit to several aother universities and most of them were better lookin than USC.

As far as film school is concerned its always a three way race between UCLA, USC and NYU with none of the three ever having a "solid" lead over the other. You mentioned George Lucas I mention francis ford copola(whatever the spellin is).

The only program that gets the nod over UCLA is their engineering school and only because of us really and by us I dont mean bruins I mean Iranians who go to top notch engineering schools in Iran and get into the graduate programs in SC. I ahve so many friends, genius guys who used to be my classmates in Iran where I attended HS and they ended up in SC for graduate level engineering and got their PhDs

The verdict is still out on Ohio State. Did your brother go to MSU for real? I always wanted to go to MSU but out of state tuition was just too expensive. Oh man that was such a heart breaking loss. MSU had the opportunity to win the game, but they beat themselves with stupid penalties.

It was 34-34 and 3-15 for Wisconsin inside their 20 yard line. The play was over and the itot DT, Kellen Davis #80, pushes the Wisconsin QB after the play and they get a 15 yard penalty. That set up the game winning field goal drive. The Spartans also had two personal foul penalties and a holding penalty in that drive as well. They were the most undisciplined team in the Big 10 last year. They brought in this new guy Mark Dantonio. He was an asst coach at MSU under Saban and later on at Ohio St when they won the National Championship. He took Cinci coaching job and transformed them from one of the worst D1 teams, to at least a .500 team. He was doing great with keeping them disciplined, but the Spartans are still learning. I think from last year MSU has improved A LOT. I think it is not impossible for them to win eight and perhapas even nine games this year. Nine games might be a bit of a stretch but eight is totally possible.

As for my conference rankings they go
                            1-SEC
                            2-Pac 10
                            3-Big East
                            4-Big 12
                            5-Big 10
                            6 ACC

I got to see the statue they made of him right next to the Brezlin center. He donated millions of dollars back to the university. I like how he comes to MSU every year and speaks individually with every member of the basketball team.

Homestly bro I don't think Wisconsin is a top 10 team. They looked very beatable to a team that is rebuilding from last year. In fact if MSU didn't self destruct on that last drive for Wisky, they would of won. Well those are the breaks it sucks but they need to put that behind them. MSU has two somewhat easy home games against Indiana and Northwestern. IU is actually not bad 4-1 but MSU should win @ home. NW shoudn't be a problem for MSU. That will put them at 6-1 so I'm happy with the improvement from last year's 4 win total season.
