Alves keen on move to Real Madrid [article/interview]

Article from The World Game website:
Daniel Alves helped beat Real Madrid in the Supercoppa but then admitted he would relish a move to the Bernabeu stadium.
Sevilla's right back is wanted by Chelsea, who reportedly offered ?21.5million (AUS$52.96million) for his services last week.
But the Spanish club turned down the offer.
The Brazilian did not hide his true feelings after the 5-3 Supercoppa triumph over Madrid.
"Any player would be enthusiastic about playing for Real Madrid," he said. "Any player who would deny wanting to play for Real Madrid would be a liar."
"Of course, any player would like to play for this club, for the fans who expect a lot from their team in every game."
"I am no different, but it's not a decision that I have to take."
Alves, 24, was keen to take part in the game against Madrid and he says he wants to speculation over his future to end as quickly as possible.
"It's a very complicated situation," he said.
"I hope it is resolved as soon as possible. I am worried. The only thing I want is for the situation to be resolved immediately."
Alves added that he does not take the decision to leave Sevilla lightly.
"I have already made clear that I want to continue to grow as a player and if that means having to leave Sevilla, I would be sorry because it's been a very special club in my life," he said.

he should stay at sevilla for another season because he is playing well and he can devolop more at Sevilla. I hope he doesn't go to EPL, that is no place for S. American players and it is just a waste of talent.

Offcourse its every players dream to play for Real Madrid and I would be really happy if he came but that would mean we would have to sell Cicinho which is a shame even though I prefer Alves atm.

Alves going nowhere: Sevilla - Reuters

UEFA Cup holders Sevilla have rejected a Chelsea bid for their highly rated Brazilian international defender Daniel Alves.

"Sevilla would like to make clear...that they have rejected Chelsea's offer because it is a very long way from the value put on the player by the club," Sevilla said in a statement on their website (www.sevillafc.es).

"To all intent and purpose Daniel remains a Sevilla player."

Spanish media reported on Tuesday that the two clubs had agreed a basic fee of 32 million euros ($A52.6 million) plus an extra 4 million ($A6.58 million) depending on results for the 24-year-old wing-back after representatives from the two clubs met in Madrid.

But they now say that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich put the brakes on the deal because he baulked at paying such a large fee for the defender and that he had reduced the offer to 25 million euros ($A41.09 million).

Last week, the dynamic right back asked Sevilla to listen to offers from big clubs saying he felt it was time for him to move on.

He then told Sevilla coach Juande Ramos that he was not ready to play in Wednesday's game against AEK Athens. If he had played he would have been unable to play for another team in the Champions League this season.

Sevilla won the game 2-0 and coach Juande Ramos said afterwards that he hoped the player would make himself available for the return leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid on Sunday.

Alves, who joined Sevilla from Bahia in 2003 for less than a million euros, signed a contract extension with the Andalucians last December linking him to the club to 2012.

He has been one of Sevilla's outstanding players in recent seasons and was a key figure in their UEFA Cup triumphs in 2006 and 2007 and their King's Cup victory last June.

He was part of the Brazil team that won the Copa America in July and scored in the 3-0 victory over Argentina in the final.

but i hope he goes to Real now that he's not going to Chelsea. Cicinho could leave if he wants.

I'd take Alves over Cicinho any day.

        Ask the Brazillian coach.

Pepe was a really really stupid buy.

Honestly I thought since Perez left this management would have learned something.
