    Iran trounces Brazil at volleyball match

    Iran players celebrate their victory over six-time world champion Brazil.
    Iran's Junior National Volleyball Team has defeated the 2005 runner-up Brazil in the second round of the Men's Junior World Championship.

    The Iranian team plodded one step ahead to World volleyball Championship, beating Brazil 3-1 in the Mexican city of Tijuana.

    Iran started strongly against Brazil and totally crushed the Brazilian defense and finished the opening set at 25-12.

    The six time world champions awakened in the second set as they took the lead to 15-8, but Iran then geared up to level the game with 18-18. The set went all the way to a nail-biting finish in which Brazil pulled forward to win 25-22.

    Iran took the lead in the third set to 28-26 with Ghiasi and Shaban's spikes while in the final set Brazil was living a nightmare and nothing changed as the Asian team reached the match point and won 25-20.

    The Iranian champions are scheduled to face the undefeated India in their second match of the round on Wednesday.
