Japan, Australia, China and S.Korea are actually favourites for this Tournament.!!!

No sign of Iran..Seems we have to fight very hard for a Championship..!!
If we win this tournament i will get a heartattack..My dad will have to be taken to the hospital.!!

World Champions and then Asian Champions..!!! My dad loves Volleyball and he still cant belive how far Iran has come to Being 1 of the Worlds best..!!

Because our Senior Volleyball has allways been in the shadow of the Sucess our Youth has been getting.!!! Even the Future Looks Fantastic.!!

The Asian Volleyball Championship has started for the Senior Team.!!!
Irans Youth Team recently became the World Champions, But it has allways been renown that the Senior Team of Iran has not been achieving what the Youth team has.!!!
The Senior team has 1 of the best coaches in the World in Miodrag Kijac...!! Who has been 1 of the biggest names in the Volleyball World.!!!
Has been appointed to finally achieve something with our Senior Team.!!!
Now After a Volleyball Youth Championships, Our Senior team is taking a HUGE Step to inshallah win this tournament for the FIRST TIME, They have only gone as far as being Bronze medalist's..!!!!
This is Olympics on Stage Boys
Can we get our Seniors win this Asian Cup the same way our Basketball Team did, Or how our Young Volleyball stars went and became the champions of the World..!!

Our Senior Team is ranked 19th in the World.!!!
Iran opend this Tournament with a win agasint Vietnam 3-1..!!
And Has also beaten a Strong Pakistan 3-2 if am correct in a very tight match...!!
Btw the Coverage of this tournament is a disgrace from Malaysia,,,I have yet to find their Website...

...!!!
WE will be struggling to get results from this tournament but ill do my best.!!!

Iran today beat Pakistan 3 - 1. Not 3 - 2. The score is 25-18, 20-25, 25-22, 25-21. But Pakistan is not a very strong team. It is a very weak team instead.

17 teams participate in this championship. Host Indonesia and top 3 seeds Japan, China and Korea directly advance to the second round. The remaining 13 teams are divided into 4 groups. Iran was drawn into the weakest group B which consists of Iran, Vietnam and Pakistan. By beating Vietnam and Pakistan, Iran has assured a seat in the second round.

So the real contest for Iran is the second round. Iran is seeded 6 in this tournament.

Please keep us updated - its been decades since Iran had a men's volleyball team in the Summer Games.

Iran has yet to even crack the current FIVB World Top 20 on the senior level:

Actually when the new World Youth Ranking comes out you will see Iran as nr1 in the World

Lets hope all this investment in the Senior Team will come with sucess in this Tournament.!!!

Iran has brought a very young squad with him..Seems like the Serbian coach of Iran is only looking towards experience..!!! And has invited alot of young players.!!!

Listen to what he has 2 say..!!!

Zoran stressed that their main focus is just to give his young players the international experiences and never think of special target in the championship. There is no special target for us. The most important thing is the international experiences for this young team, he said.

Iran will be in a VERY Tough group next round.!!! Japan And Korea aswell as another team from Group D..Most likely to be Kazakhstan.!!! Japan are the holding Champions...

Its a Tough group, Very tough group indeed

Good luck to Iran, But it seems the coach is looking at building a Strong squad for the future.!!!
