It was only when I had left that people noticed I had gone and my MSN/facebook got filled with wants to make me come back after being away for well over a month.

So I 'piss' you off for something I think shouldnt bother anyone else. Me trying to be light-hearted and cheerful makes you behave in a rather confrontational manner for no apparent reason, and now a taunt of me showing up and saying it in your face etc.

Age maybe a state of mind or a number, but it certainly does distinguish one person from the other in many different ways, and they certainly arent confined to physical attributes.

I don't like Israel for the same reason as you, but we need to remember somehting here. These guys are football players NOT POLITICIANS. Many people say "Oh I don't like Iran's team because of their President." Well it's the same thing man because they don't represent the IR because they are football players not politicans.
I know it is difficult especially when emotions are involved but we need to try to seperate the Israeli football team from their Zionist government man.

let's assume that the Palestinian people should not have a country of their own because they have never had a state, then why should the peoples of Salvador, Guatemala, Congo, Algeria, ... etc. have the right of self determination?
It should be noted that none of these countries had a state prior to gaining independence, nor a distinct language or culture that set them apart from their neighboring states. In other words, even if it's true that the Palestinian people had neither a state, nor a distinct culture or language:

Is that a good reason to confiscate their homes, farms, and businesses?
Is that a good reason to block their return to their homes?
Is that a good reason to nullify their citizenship in the country in which they were born?
According to historical facts, Zionism, as an ideology, evolved in response to the rise of Europe's nationalism and anti-Semitism in the late 19th century.
