i give credit where its due. i dislike italian football for some reasons but i dont hate them and say stuff about them that are not true. im not like that. im just pointing out the fact that italy plays more of a defensive game than other teams. all teams defend with a lot of players at certain times of the game or certain games... but playing like that is italys style. italy fans always say "we USED to play defensive" but we all know that defensive strategy still partially exists today.

milad, your opinion doesnt count..just like amir said you are completely biased and dont give credit when its due.

Italy-france was all italy attacks, they had like 15 corners, so many shots on goal while france had literally only 2 attacks. Buffon touched the ball like twice, everything else was italy. If it wasnt for donadoni, del piero and inzaghi should have been subbed at half time.

How could you call it defensive when zambrotta, barzagli, cannavaro were all pushing up??

milad i admit we used to play defensive esp in 2002 when that idiot trapatoni was our coach, the reason we lost to korea was because of we were winning 1-0 then he put everyone back. since then we have hardly played defensive, look at our results in the world cup all games we scored and against germany it took extra time but we got 2 goals and dont forge zambotta and gilardino hit the post in that game. how can we be so defensive when we had players like totti pirlo gattuso zambrotta oddo those guys all push up 80% of the time.

there is a difference betwen being defensive and having the best defence in the world

pirlo pushes up, but comes back when he has to
              gattuso
              zambrotta
              ambrosini
              camoranesi
you can see them pushing up and u can also see them running back when its time to, besides englad (terry) how many other countries push their CB up for free kicks and cornrs (cannavaro, materazzi)

zambrotta and grosso start all the attacks from left and right, people who talk about italy like that are in denial and obviouisly dont watch the games.

thats the thing. you dont field enough attackers. everyone has to push up. every teams players push up during a full attack. when there is a full attack the only 2 players in your own field will be the center backs. but when neutral italy has 4 defenders near their own net, the defensive mids are close to them, and all the midfielders are near them. thats why you won games in the world cup... all your players are close together in their own half making it hard to get past 11 players and score, but when you are attacking obviously everyone has to push up. while you do make some nice quick attacks (which is why you scored a lot of goals in the world cup) you focus more on defense than offense. youre not a team like brazil that only defends when the other team team launches a full attack (basically when they are forced too).

why are u saying like thats a bad thing bro so isnt it the midfield job to push up and go back. Our attack starts out from the midfield they bring it up to the attack and we go from there, not like france who just sends long balls for the forwards to chase on. Whats so attacking about sending the ball and letting you attack chase after it? so you wanna call us defensive because our midfielders know their defensive duty? fine then we are defensive, but why is that france was sitting back most of the game and letting us attack, isnt that 2 straight games for france with 0 in the net? sounds pretty defensive too me

im not saying its a bad thing... if you would just play a little less defensive you will be the most balance team. you have good team work but i think you should be more interested in scoring instead of waiting for the other team. i watched highlights of frances games and they attack a lot. they attacked against scotland a lot because they are an attacking team but they failed to score. if youre an attacking team, you have to score otherwise you can lose just like france.

milad, France has a lot of attacking and defensive talent, even more then Italy some can say.

But Italy has proven to be the stronger team as a team not just individual brilliance. But sadly France relies on individual brilliance, ever since Zidane left they are still trying to find that in either Ribery, Henry or someone else.

Putting an "[R]" indicates to people that the result of the game is located somewhere within the thread. This tells people who haven't seen the game and who want to see the game to not click on the thread so it doesn't get ruined for them.
