Basically Ronaldo and Maldini are injured, Pirlo in doubt.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti rested six first-team regulars during the disappointing 1-1 draw at Siena on Saturday but all are set to return for the clash with Benfica.
Legendary defender Paolo Maldini, who made his debut for the club almost 23 years ago, misses out through a knee injury and is not expected to be available until the end of September.
Brazilian striker Ronaldo is also out but apart from these two absentees, the only worry for Carlo Ancelotti is Andrea Pirlo who is struggling with a calf problem.

The Eagles have a crisis in defence and Coach Camacho may have to field the team’s fifth central defensive pairing of the season. Luisao, Andre Luiz and Marco Zoro are all on the treatment table, while goalkeeper Moreira also misses out through injury.
Benfica have also been rocked by the news that defensive midfielder Armando Petit has been ruled out for six weeks with a knee ligament injury picked up in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Laval.
American youngster Freddy Adu, who is yet to play for his new club, has not been included in the squad for the game.

Milan kick off another Champions League campaign, full in the knowledge that they boast a quite incredible recent record in the competition.
Over the last five seasons the Rossoneri have won the cup twice and reached the final, semi-final and quarter-final on one occasion. Since the European Cup was launched in 1955, Milan have won the trophy nine times and finished runners-up on another four occasions.
This makes them the second-most successful club in the history of the competition behind Real Madrid. Europe is in Milan’s DNA. The two entities cannot be separated from one another. Regardless of how poor Milan are playing domestically, the team can never be written off in Europe.

Milan produced some quite magnificent football to defeat Bayern Munich in the quarter-final and Manchester United in the last-four, before disposing with 2005 nemeses’ Liverpool in the final. Milan’s style of football seems to be perfectly suited to Europe and this is what makes them such a dangerous animal.
The squad is full of experience and has arguably the strongest midfield in club football. Then up front there is Filippo Inzaghi, who is the second most prolific goalscorer in the history of European football behind Gerd Muller.
Inzaghi may be 34-years-old and his best years are certainly behind him but he is still a phenomenon and if there is a striker in the history of the game with better movement and penalty-box understanding than Inzaghi then I for sure haven’t seen him. Do not be surprised to see Superpippo strike again against Benfica.
Camacho Hopes To Keep Up Good Start
New Benfica boss Jose Antonio Camacho is hoping to continue the promising start to his second spell in charge of Benfica. The Spanish tactician, who coached The Eagles between 2002 and 2004, was re-appointed as manager after Fernando Santos left the club after just two games of the current season.
On Saturday Benfica beat Naval 3-0 in the Portuguese League, the club’s second consecutive league victory and fourth clean sheet since the arrival of Camacho.
The star of the show in Saturday’s win was 35-year-old playmaker Rui Costa who scored a goal and ran the show from midfield. The ex-Portugal international, who was capped 94 times by his country, has been enjoying something of a renaissance this season and has already scored three times this campaign.
On Tuesday Rui Costa will make an emotional return to San Siro, the ground where he spent five years of illustrious career. Between 2001 and 2006 Rui Costa played 169 games for the Rossoneri and won one Scudetto, one Champions League and one European Supercup.
He is fondly remembered by the Milan supporters and is looking forward to returning to his old hunting ground. “I am very excited,” Rui Costa said. “I return to the stadium where I played for five years and I find again the team with which I became Champion of Europe. Just getting a point in Milan would be a good result.”
