Mourinho never liked this interference of Abramovich, Avram Grant, Frank Arnesen and Peter tw@ Kenyon. The whole Sheva-Ballack affair was clearly forced on Mourinho to accept and use, and both performed poorly since following the money trail.

Not surprising if Mourinho's demand of control as is needed by any manager got on the nerves of Roman "its all about the money" Abramovich and forced him to leave the club.

Chelsea, at least for the next many of months, are completely fvcked. The dressing roam morale will be shattered by now, players like Drogba etc would want to leave on seeing their boss leaving.

As far as Mourinho goes, well good luck to him. Hopefully he wont stay in England and maybe go manage a smaller club elsewhere and build them from the ground up like he made Porto as he is a project man.

I wonder if England will make a serious push for Jose to take over the national team post.

We look at the incidents that led to Jose Mourinho's decision to quit Chelsea.

2005: September - Chelsea appoint Frank Arnesen as director of scouting and youth development.

2007: January 10 - Mourinho rejects claims that he has faced dressing-room unrest over summer signing Michael Ballack's contribution to the team.

January 11 - Rumours Mourinho could leave Chelsea in the summer surface after he accused the Stamford Bridge board of refusing to back him in the January transfer window.

January 13 - Mourinho drops Andriy Shevchenko for a Premier League clash with Wigan.

April 15 - Secures an FA Cup final meeting with Manchester United with a 2-1 extra-time win over Blackburn. Shares a hug with Abramovich, raising suggestions of a warming in relations between the pair.

May 1 - Chelsea are defeated on penalties by Liverpool in the Champions League semi-finals. Shevchenko had ruled himself out of the second leg citing an injury, with Mourinho reported to be furious. The Ukrainian did not feature for the Blues again until a 0-0 draw with Blackburn on 15th September.

June 26 - Avram Grant appointed Chelsea's director of football.

July 12 - Mourinho warns Grant not to interfere with team affairs.

September 2 - After a good start to the season, Chelsea lose 2-0 at Aston Villa, prompting Abramovich to leave the directors box before the final whistle.

September 18 - The Blues follow up a home draw with Blackburn with a 1-1 stalemate with Norwegian club Rosenborg in the Champions League. Only 24,973 supporters attend the match and boos ring out at the final whistle.

September 20 - A Chelsea statement confirms Mourinho has left the club by mutual consent.

Dude... I'm willing to bet that Egypt's FA is even cheaper than Pakistan's, a nation where football isn't even the number 1 sport . But I digress...

mourinho will take over portugal when scolari leaves , unless he gets a lucrative offer that keeps him for years to come , but I dont see which club could afford him now.

but i want to wait and see how official this news is, tommorow shall tell..

Never liked the guy but he'll be a big loss to the premier league if he leaves. This could be really bad for chelsea because players like lampard and drogba are only loyal to mourinho and not chelsea.

With Mourinho gone, who are we gonna shake our fists at in anger or laugh at his hilarious yet somewhat offending swipes in the media ?

Seriously, Avraham Grant hardly has any experience to warrant managing a Premiership side. Forget them Maccabis of Israel or their national side, that's not something I would use to manage a title chasing club in England.

Roman Abramovich, in a bid to directly control the club on his own, has more or less shot himself in the foot.

wtf? why is Grant the new manager? he only coached at club level in Israel and the Israeli national team, since then he's pretty much been a spy for the chairman both in Pompey and Chelsea, i really don't know what's gonna happen now.
