I actually am not bothered for what Ronny did to Rooney - he was standing up for his fellow countryman after having his nuts squashed - and that effectively ended England's hopes yet again.
yeah we United fans tend to hate the England team as they are supported by lower-league drunk hooligans that dont win anything and they as well as the FA tends to treat United and its players like crap.sigpic

that said, do the names Giggs, Scholes, Brown, O'Shea, and Gary Neville ring a name ? THAT is loyalty and THAT is where the team is bigger than the player and always will be.
There was AS Roma before Totti when the likes of Falcao used to play and that reached the European Cup final back in the 1980s (and lost in Rome to the Scousers) and there will be a Roma after Totti hangs up his boots.
The sooner Francesco realises it and does what is best for the team rather than his own ego the better.sigpic

and i think the last few years, since his injury totti has cooled it a bit, in 2002 world cup e acted like he was bigger then italia,in 2006 he wasa good player, didnt mke a fuss wen he got subbed and that was key to why italia wonWE ARE THE UNDER DOGS

Manchester is beckhams home town right? as s rome for Totti! but giggs scholes and neville were baught, huge difference, totti could have played for milan inter juve, real barca back in his younger days, Roma is not a manchester united, roma is like the Everto of english football, they are not powerhouse, but a good club who competes without buying players with ridiculous amounts, I dot think what maldini did can compare to what totti did, cuz milan was always big team, rome isnt and totti still stuk it threw wit em, thats class, give it time, im sure C. Ronaldo when leave when he gets a better offer too!

All of the names I mentioned have ALWAYS been United from the youth academy to the first team.
Scholes is a Mancunian, Giggs is Welsh but was raised in Manchester, and Gary Neville is a Manc too (we chant 'he hates Scousers' for cryin out loud). Beckham is a London native, but he was plucked when he impressed in a competition back when he was a kid by Sir Alex and enrolled in the Youth Academy and made him what he is...too bad he married Posh and then his life went into more of a glamorous mockery than a footballer.
United had had a history of finding and producing talent in its entire history and for that one can only look at the Busby Babes in the 1950s as well as George Best, Norman Whiteside and a host of others.
The way how managers come and go in the other clubs, I dont think Ronaldo's going anywhere for the next 6-7 years.sigpic

Originally posted by persiangodfather View Postno doubt manchester united is a big club, top 5 class in every department, and thank u for telling me about man u history, but u r missing my point, my point is that roma is not a manchester a real a barca a milan or a liverpool, thats why when a totti stays with roma his whole career, that is definatly something special, and a reason why all romans love totti, he could have left in 2002 i remember milan dying for him, but he wouldnt leave, its a bigger deal for totti to stay at rome, then giggs stayin at manchester.
People dont know but Inter wanted Giggs back in 2002 when he had a dip in form, but then he scored twice I guess against Juve in the 2nd round of CL and Ferguson refused to let him go.
Well Giggs doesnt say or does foolish things like Totti. Quite frankly I can barely imagine Totti surviving in another team outside Roma. I give credit to him for his loyalty, but what he has in loyalty and talent is only shunned down by a massive ego (as massive as man city or even bigger ).
He likes the worship, to be the centre of attention, to be treated like a god, and quite frankly THAT is what makes him tick as a player and that is why he never realised his true potential as an Italian national player since he had to share the fame and fortune and that made him look average if I dare say. What Totti needed was someone to control his ego like a disciplinarian as a manager, someone whom Totti himself feared when things went bad.
That was why Sir Alex was able to harnass the likes of angry bad boys like Eric Cantona and Roy Keane and made them a really important part of United's re-emergence in the 1990s. Had a hard ass like Ferguson been Totti's manager when he first debuted, I can only imagine where Roma would have been today.
Hey, his loyalty is something special, but his ego has let him and his beloved Roman mates down many a times. The fans still love him, and they should, but they should also think how many times Totti's own actions have screwed their team over.
But what can I say ? Totti is Totti.sigpic
