I don't think Germany, or any other country with a great league, would "close doors" to players of any particular nationality.

It's the player that makes the decision to work hard and succeed. From the perspective of any (sane) manager in the Bundesliga, Premiereship, La Liga etc.. one's country of origin is irrelevant.

Unfortunately Hawar won't be playing football until the winter transfer window opens! Gutsy move, but he's going to just work on staying fit until the time arrives.

I don't see what's so shameful. It was Arminia Bielefeld in fact that opened the gates of Europe to Iranian players (Daei & Bagheri signed with Arminia, correct me if I'm wrong). Hopefully Hawar can be the pioneer of his generation of Iraqi footballers by playing in a top flight European league.

Younis Mahmoud has a clause in his contract with Al-Gharrafa making it possible for him to leave the club next season if he receives a suitable European offer. Maybe there's still hope for him yet!

nice move, he is a great player, i saw iraq's games against australia and saudis and i have to say he is a big talent in asia. you don't find many players in iraq playing like him. he is so creative and he makes less mistakes if any. Good luck to him in Bielefeld

there will be a lot more talent coming out of Iran in the next few years, Germany would never be stupid to close the doors on Iranian talent just because they found the first ever player from Iraq to join their league.
