Reason being, That's not his style yaara. His style is CONTROLLING and DICTATING play at his own rather leisurely pace shugal mela to allow his team mates to get into some good positions and space for his ever deadly through balls and passes.
He is an old-school type playmaker that the whole team relies on and he delivers time and time again, but he does it at his own terms and conditions as he reads the game really well when all the opposition want to close him down and mark him out of the game.
unfortunately this is what ronaldinho is trying to do now, and its not working.

Its sad to say, but Ronaldinho doesnt have the grit and focus to do such a thing. Riquelme has throughout his life played as the team's standard bearer. Ronaldinho was initially the 'fancy kid' in Brazil and then PSG where his flair was more about creating and scoring quickly rather than dictating play. Someone like Deco and Xavi are the dictators for Barca, while Ronaldinho is supposed to be the flair player that gives greater quicker creativity at quick pace when needed.

Thats why he has been sucking. If you watch the barca games, he walks around and only goes for the ball when its within 5 feet of him. He still has his impact on the game, either by making a beautifull assist or by a free kick, but he does not have the same impact he did when he was hussling more and creating that spark in offense with his runs and stylish play.

Ronaldinho is another story this year, he isn't at his best obviously, but Messi is stealing the show most of the time.

messi in my opinion is player of year.
no one can stop the guy!
ibrahimovic is the only one who would be able to steal that from him so far this year, even kaka cant win it with these two scoring like this!

guys idk what it is...but i just dont like riquelme; never did. Usually i love these creative #10 midfielders, ESPECIALLY ones who dont sell out to the top clubs (well he kinda did when he went to barca for a while, but still he led villareal to the CL semis and now plays in s. america), but for some reason that i just cant figure out i strongly dislike riquelme. I dont understand it.

He seems smug to a lot of people, because he rarely smile or shows emotion. Plus hes lazy on the field. But he is a genius.

Rquelme's free kicks were superb, pirlo's could have been saved if the keeper didn't make that mistake but Requelme's two free kicks were works or art.

Requelme is a genious and so is Pirlo, I like the both but I rate Requelme higher because he has the ability to single handedly turn a game around while Pirlo is more of a team player and not a player you can rely on to make big things happen although he is a master of dead ball situations.

Riquelme is a very good player. the bad thing is he is always underratet.
