    Japan vs. Egypt - friendly

Our second and third tier boys controlling the match, then Japan scores against the run of play . Great shot though.

No Europe based players for Egypt, and no Ahly players. Basically the whole team. I believe Japan is missing a few guys too, though not to the same degree.

We came to Tehran in 2000 man. Then you withdrew from the youth tournament in Doha! Time for you to come visit us !

and how many times have you played japan over the recent years

The thing I dont understand about our federation is that we have two decent footballing nations in Turkey who are our neighbours and egypt who are not far off and we hardly ever play them!!

We could have used some preparation for our WC campaign as we were short on friendlies as no one would play us because of politcal reasons which messed up our preparation all because of the US . Ukraine and Romania both refused because of politcal reasons so we only got a few decent friendlies leading up to the world cup againts Croatia and Bosnia!

Bro, football is just the tip of the iceberg. Turkey, Iran, and Egypt would absolutely run the region if they were on the same page.

3-0 to japan. bye bye hassan shehatta. there's no excuse for this, 2nd and 3rd teamers or not!

Just ended 4-1, i dont think it was a bad game for Egypt (9 new players).
You cant keep the same team forever & shihata was without all the europian players & all the Ahli players plus these kids missed 3-4 100% goals.
If theis was the 1 team japan would never win.

Yeah. They didn't call up Euro-based players, accoring to wikipedia.

                never?
                Japan isn't that bad.
I still think they would have won the Asian cup with a better preparation and more Euro-based players.
After the tournament, they beat Cameroon and Switzerland's A team.

I appreciate the sugar-coating Roy . It may sound weird but I didn't think it was too bad of a game for us either. If nobody saw the score they probably wouldn't have guessed Japan even won. But anyway, after cooling down a bit I guess it was good experience for those guys. There were literally 0 starters and 90+% of the regular team overall was missing. Friendlies are the time to cap new players. What pisses me off a bit is that these results do go down in history as official matches, and there won't be any mention of the players missing in the scoreline. That said, Japan is a very good team, kudos for the big win.

Japan fielded their B team with a bunch of experimental players as well.

                    But be honest....

If Japan's A team plays Egypt's A team 100 times, Japan wins 99 of those.

To fill you in, The Pharoah's haven't got a whiff of the World Cup since 1990 (!).

lol you obviously just want attention and/or a reaction out of me with such a silly statement. You know very well Japan had many of its regulars playing while Egypt had 0, and in fact didn't even have a number of its regular subs. It was the first or second cap for much of the starting lineup. Regardless, it was a crap result, but so is your assertion. If there was any truth to it maybe I'd get angry, but I'll let the facts about the match and our football, from the youth, Olympic, and club levels on up speak for themselves.

japan only made 2 changes to their usual starting line up because there was no takahara and nakamura.

                        first goal was a beauty!

Nah man, to the contrary I'm a big fan of Egyptian football (+ a good friend of mine is Ahmed Ahmed, FYI!)

I'm just stating the obvious. Japan is a bit ahead of Egypt right now -- three straight World Cups versus zero, in the last 20 years.

I'm still perplexed by Egypt's failure on the int'l stage. You guys do so well in CANs, the African CL, and producing awesome players like Mido, yet....

Also what are you referring to by the Pharoah's success achieved on Olympic and youth levels? Stuff that happened when television was still in B&W don't hold well with me.
