Nice they promoted MSU after they beat #20 BYU in their house! We were down by 10 points in the first half, but to start the 2nd half, our all american Drew Neitzel shot 4 straight 3 pointers in a row. MSU won the game by 7 points and it was a good test.

Up next for the Spartans is mighty Texas at the Palace of Auburn Hills Mi. I think State could win this game since we beat them last year. I know Texas is a different team and they beat UCLA but we have a good squad as well.

      GO STATE!

Well we are playing in Aubrun Hills Mi which is not in Detriot. That is about 45 min drive from East Lancing to Auburn Hils. The Pallace holds more fans than the Brezlin Center(our nice state of the art stadium on campus). The advantage is that the Brezlin Center is one of the toughest places to play because of the Izzone(MSU's student section). It's a give and take but this also gives a chance for MSU to recruit kids in that area.

MSU usually plays a few big time games at the Pallace to attract kids in the Flint area. MSU likes to recruit hard in Flint because it's a great place to pick up young tallent. A few years ago they played Kentucky and beat them. That's why they are playing the game at the Pallace of Auburn Hills.

Ya take that TEXAS! Once again MSU owned Texas and it feels so good beating up on the Longhorns. Don't be fooled by the score, the Spartans dominated the 2nd half but only won by 6 points. Abrams was just launching 3 bombs from past the NBA range and just drilling it. I think they closed with like 4 three bombs to cut the lead down. MSU was really playing loose defense and their starters were resting on the bench.
                  Analysis of the Spartans
PG Lucas true Freshman. This is the PG of the future and he is going to replace Travs Wwalton for the PG spot in no time. Had a career high in minutes played and points 18. Player of the Game
SG Drew Neitze-Had a solid first half and a decent game overall but he kind of was a non factor in the 2nd half.
PF Raymar Morgan- He is ranked #1 PF in the nation but again he had a decent game but nothing special. I think he scored something like 15 points.
PF-Goron Sutton-Sutton had a good gmae because he got a lot of assists and rebounds along with 12 points.
C Drew Namik-Did his job and stopped Texas PF/s and C to penetrate to the hole.

Offense B They scoed 78 which is 2 more than their average
Defense-A They held Texas which scores an avg of 84 pts to 72.
Overall A-The Spartans dominated on the boards and only had 6 turnovers in the entire game.
Texas was playing fantastic basketball at the start but MSU clamped down and shut them out. They were up by 8 points but then MSU went on an 11-0 tear and never trailed the game again.

I hope that the Spartans get ranked to like #6 and #7 in the polls, which is a realistic guess considering they are ranked #9 and #10 in another poll.

Well it is meaningful for Michigan State because we have only one more game against a ranked team and that is against Indiana University. For us it's all about positioning because we want to be a #1 seed in the Mid West bracket. It's all set up the final 4 will be in ford field (DETROIT). This will get us into good position to be a one or at least a two seed in the tourney. Texas was also a huge win under our belt and a great confidence boost. It's our first win against a top 5 team this season.

Ya no more UCLA vs Azusa Pacific for you. That Texas game was a big win under our belt and we now are ranked #6 in both polls. Now it's about positioning for the NCAA tourney.

Ya but you guys got bailed out by shooting 54% in the 2nd half, so it's al good man. You are going to have nights where you get out rebounded, but still find a way to win. Basically if you look at the stats they are dead even, actually with the rebounding favoring Stanford. The difference in the game is Stanford shot 40% where as UCLA shot 54 in the 2nd half. If I were to rank the pac 10 teams 1 through 5 it would go as follows.
                                1-UCLA
                                2-Washington State
                                3-Oregon
                                4-Stanford
                                5-USC
Note you can also perhaps insert Cal in here considering they just beat USC, so the 5th spot is debatable.
