Tucker out of Leafs' lineup indefinitely with right knee injury

TORONTO (AP) -Darcy Tucker is out of the Toronto Maple Leafs' lineup indefinitely with ligament damage in his right knee.

The veteran right-winger said on Monday that he hurt the knee during the summer, but it was feeling better until he collided with a Chicago Blackhawk early in the third period of Toronto's 6-4 home loss Saturday.

He said an MRI exam on Sunday revealed "slight damage to some ligaments." He doesn't expect he'll need surgery.

"We don't know how extensive it is or how long is will take time-wise," he said after receiving treatment from team training staff Monday. "As of now, it's indefinite. Hopefully, I'll get a brace made and we'll see how it progresses from there."

Surgery is not expected, he said.

Tucker had one goal and four assists in the team's nine games.

congratulations Toronto. I have said it for years but losing to Atlanta tonight makes it official. Toronto is the worst team in the league.

          antropav(?)
          tucker
          mccabe
          toskala

so just because they lost to the last place team, dont make them the worst team in NHL.
my warriors beat the no1 seeded dallas mavericks in 5 games, does that make the mavs the worst team now?
btw detroit is going down on friday

what shocks me is that the leafs have scored 42 goals till tonight and that is the most in the league and detriot with 40 goals scored right behind them, but then leafs have gave up 44 goals which that is the most in the league and right after them it's thrashers with 43.
my point is that this team is truly a great team and we actually can make it to the playoffs and have a good shot for winning the cup, but it's our D that's having trouble. if this team can pick up and make a move and bring in a talented young or veteran Defenseman.

ive been saying this since he came to san jose
trade thornton, but since the season started he has been gaining my trust and respect very slowly, but i think he should go. trade him to colorado for statsny and smyth. or to atlanta with cheechoo for kovalchuk and hossa. hahahahahah.
the thing about san jose is that we dont have any exciting players. like pittsburg has crosby and malkin. nyr has jagr gomez drury. wash has ovechkin etc. i want a player like that. but i thibk that player will be Milan Michalek who has really provn himself

i wish toronto wud trade stajan n steen for thornton

habs beat hurricanes 7-4. So much for all the analysts saying that we wont even make the playoffs...

The problem with the habs is that they dont have main star player. Koivu and Kovalev are good players but they are not among the best players.

homie are you crazy!! those two guys are like the young stars of this team.

i hate to say it but i would trade rayzor (raycroft) i gave up on that dude. we need to get some high quality Defensmans and a great goalie, we have decent goalie right now but not great like CUJO

                                Wings > Sharks

Also the leafs and Atlanta both suck, even Leaf fans admit this. Both teams only have two good players kovalchuk and hossa, sundin and toskala.

Btw, your last line makes you sound like your coming straight out a compton
