Although very disappointing, the result could be good for the team: 1) Keep the players down to earth, 2) scoreline will confuse Iraq's opponents.
I think the result of the first game killed the second game, but still no excuse not to play with motivation and score a couple of goals.

Upfront Emad Mohammed was very disspointing. Karrar or Younis would've made a difference.

KUALA LUMPUR: UAE, Qatar, Jordan and Bahrain advanced to the next round of the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign on Sunday.

In Abu Dhabi, UAE built up on their 1-0 first leg lead against Vietnam with a solid 5-0 win. Ismael Matar opened the account for Bruno Metsu’s side in the 13th minute before Ahmad Al Mahri doubled the advantage five minutes before the break. Mohamed Al Shehhi (53), Nawaf Al Darmaki (90) and Saeed Al Kass (90+4 penalty) also contributed to the big win.

In Kuala Lumpur, a scoreless stalemate against Malaysia was enough for Bahrain to reserve their place in the next round. The Bahrainis had won the first leg 4-1.

In Doha, Qatar swept aside Sri Lanka 5-0 (first leg 1-0). Jorge Fossati’s side were powered to the win by goals from Syed Bashir (18, 56), Sebastian Soria (5, 77) and Saad Al Shammari (85).

Jordan managed to overturn a two-goal deficit from the first leg and force a penalty shootout against Kyrygzstan which the hosts won 6-5 in Amman.

Mohamed Shelbayah scored Jordan’s first goal in the 32nd minute and Hatem Akel added to it to tie the aggregate score 2-2. Extra time failed to break the deadlock and in the ensuring shootout, the Jordanians won 6-5.

The match between India and Lebanon was abandoned due to heavy rains in Chennai and will now be played in Goa on Tuesday at the PJN Fatorda Stadium.

      FIRST ROUND WINNERS (TILL DATE)

Iraq, China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Yemen, Oman, Hong Kong, Syria, Thailand, Turkmenistan, UAE, Qatar, Jordan and Bahrain

Wallahee...I'll be more than happy to see the entire game if that is the case. Pakistan's one or two shots on goals dont really matter, it was how the defence and goalkeeper Iltaf Ahmed (who plays in the Saturday & Sunday leagues in England) performed against Iraq.

they may have had some luck but it was well deserved.

They had the best defence , they finished the tournament only conceding 2 goals and one of them was a penalty.

They fought like warriors till the end and had the best team spirit.

Yea everything Iraq achieves is fixed....finishing 4th in Athens, finishing 2nd in the Asian Games, winning the Asian Cup... and If we beat/draw Australia in Sydney on the 17th and make it to Beijing it will be fixed as well

If the Saudis want to bring unity-peace to Iraq perhaps they could stop sending us suicide bombers... rather than letting us defeat them in soccer and then drop down to the ground and start crying.. and if Arabs are dirty and they do match fixing for the sake of Arab-Brotherhood (Thats the reason they send us suicide bombers) then I dont think countries like South Korea, Vietnam, Australia, and Thailand are down to that level.

Putting 10 men in defense paid for Pakistan and big credits for them for ending the game in such a result...Pakistan went into the game wanting to achieve something after losing 7-0, while Iraq went there not in the same motivation they played with in the first game after guaranteeing the result.

w/e... politics gets way too involved in sports, bottom line, Iraq is not on top of Asia, simple! ever since the Asian cup everyone thinks Iraq is the new Italy

I wasnt happy with the Asian Cup at all, I mean i wouldve rather had Iraq win over Saudi anyway but it wasnt even my first choice for a final

If i couldnt choose Iran, I would've picked Saudi-Japan as a final, if anyone watched that game it was simply beautiful football, it was probably the best matchup of the tourny

btw: plz do not think i am racist towards Iraq, im just giving my opinion
