if they really care about making this a 'world game' then they'll give to it australia. the interest in football has grown so much since we qualified for the world cup last year, i saw the turnouts for matches shown on public tv screens with my own eyes. i can't imagine how much more the interest will grow for the game if it were held here. we have all the facilities, so why not? it's been in every other continent, now it's our turn.

it should come to the UK, not just england.....you guys need to be at hampden park and feel the atmosphere...scotland has 3 good stadiums. it could be held in sco, eng, wales

scotland - hampden, celtic park, ibrox
england - wembley, emirates stadium, old trafford, anfield, st james park, stamford bridge
        wales - millenium stadium

        IT WOULD BE IMMENSE

        great transport links...etc etc
you can't do anything about the length of your life, but you can do something about its width and depth

by akward i mean that you can see the footy lines and they put the pitch right in middle of the footy oval and they didnt cover the extra with seats so that the crowd is far away from the actual pitch. like azadi how the pitch is far away from the grass but this isnt really important factor against them
I got no time for a signiture

man its not like the AFL has lines like American Football. The US world cup wasnt like that all so y should the Australian one be like that??

Also the plans for the MCG should Australia get the World Cup are to build seats all the way into the pitch and have a 130,000 capacity. SWEET!!!!

They would never do that to MCG knowing it would just be stupid because of the AFL and the Cricket....

doing that, Would make MCG enabled of being used as Cricket and AFL, not going to happen....And now u tell me Honestly.?.... are they going to do such a thing?..

              No..doubt it

It was in the Herald Sun last year. They even had a picture of what it would look like. It was the most amazing thing ever.

It wouldn't be permanent man. Just for the world cup.

man WTF is your problem?? y u being so negative about potentially the best thing to ever happen to me and all the football lovers in this country??

did i say Australia was a footballing nation?? show me the bloody part where i said that. i am born and raised here. you would be blind not to know what the top 3 sports are. But you have to be an absolute FOOL if u don't realize that Australia is a SPORT loving nation in general.

Let it go man cause you obviously have some chip on your shoulder and someone elses happiness obviously burns at you.

man doesnt matter what their stadiums are built for, they could easily be converted into football stadiums... and TRUST ME, u wont see any lines on the field lol thats not gonna happen at a world cup!! and btw i think it wuld be awesome if canada hosted the world cup!! if they did host it though they shuldnt go coast to coast, they shuld keep it in like ontario/quebec area... the biggest problem though is that we have nice stadiums but none of them are big enough!!

olympic stadium is huge but its falling apart!! BMO field is nice but its waaay too small.... the only really nice stadium we have is skydome, which can hold 60 000+ for football matches

If it happens in Australia the REAL football will give AFL and Cricket a GOOD run for its money. I mean the interest in football and the money coming into the beautiful game will skyrocket. Better sooner or later! I say bring it on! AFL is appalling, and disgusts me when i watch it.

Australia is a sport loving nation but they are only big on sports they are good at and througout history football hasn't been it.

good, so u admit australia is not a footballing nation.

So australians only support sports they are good at but when the national team plays in Australia. competitive or friendly and they sell out the match, i guess u miss that.

i just think u need a new team to follow other than australia.. possibly czech republic

Australia's games are not all sold out that is false statement, when Australia played Argentina although there was a crowd of 70 000 + alot of the tickets were given away for free because they couln't sell them all. If Argentina came with the squad that they did to Tehran , I promise you Azadi would have been packed with 100 000 + fans just like when we played a full strength Germany a couple of years back.

At my work alot of people got free tickets to the game from reps .. so Im not making it up!

I went to the Bayern Munich game in Tehran and there was no more than 50 thousand. now granted it wasnt the national team but Bayern going anywhere with a full squad should sell out.

Also Australia is my number 3 favourite team. I luv Holland and Iran much more. But my point i have been trying to make to you has nothing to do with the national team. It has everything to do with Australia's potential to host the world cup.
