yeah, it's sad and very wrong.

there's this Chinese girl in my class who is literally insane and talented. talented because she's been forced to study something she doesn't like and is good at it, insane because she doesn't know how to act properly when she isn't studying.

I hate to say this but we do this same exact thing. I know some poor Iranian kids who hate Engineering and yet they are studying it to please mommy and daddy. Other kids hwo are good at sports the mom and dad push them too mcuh, and usually they just flame out and get tired of it.

I think this is not just with the Chinese we are guilty of this as well.
