Television coverage will be difficult to come by bro. Apparently ART Sports 5 will be broadcasting all of the football matches, and ART Sports 6 will cover the basketball tournament. I don't think handball will be televised. I'm sure some channels like Abu Dhabi Sports or Dubai Sports will decide to broadcast some stuff at the last minute, probably unannounced. If I hear anything more I'll let you know inshallah.

          Slightly odd.
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

Guys it's just a name. These things are meant simply to describe concisely (like pan-American, All-African Games, Asian Games or anything else, there's no political meaning).

That said, taha, apparently the official name is Dowrat elaab el Arab (literally, tournament of games of Arabs). I guess the tournament's name would sound a lot more innocent to those who know Arabic.

It should have been translated to the Arab Games not pan-arab games, weird translation from arabic to english.

pharoah, people just automatically relate pan-arabism to gamal abdul nasser and his whole anti - 3jam and arab pride, renaming the persian gulf etc etc...it's name just puts people off....

You're right, strange translation. In fact, I don't even know what "pan-Arab" would be in Arabic.

                            Friday's results:

                            Football

                            Libya 2:0 UAE
                            Egypt 5:0 Sudan

                            Handball

                            Iraq 26:25 Morocco
                            Libya 18:38 Algeria
                            Jordan 19:35 Egypt

                            Basketball

                            Egypt 74:64 UAE
                            Kuwait 83:90 Iraq
