Funny that the top three medal winners of the Arab games so far aren't technically in Arabia.

The Iraqi B-ball team managed to make it to the semis after beating Kuwait & UAE; glad they managed to turn it around after the Egypt thrashing.

Yup, great recovery by the Iraqis. Their teams have shown great character during this tournament. Egypt and Iraq may meet in the basketball finals, they're in separate semi-finals. The other two semi finalists will be determined today.

In an upset of sorts, Saudi Arabia (with its full team) lost to Libya in football.

              - GOAL 9' Saud Kearairi (KSA)
              - GOAL 24' Osama Alvazani (LBY)
              - RED CARD 57' Mohamed Almagrabi (LBY)
              - GOAL 94' Omar Dawood (LBY)

              UAE 2:0 Sudan

              Handball

              Morocco 18:29 Algeria
              Saudi Arabia 22:32 Libya
              Iraq 37:29 Jordan

In the basketball final today, Egypt was losing to Jordan (who have 3 American players ) 45-28 at halftime and 62-48 at the end of the third quarter. Apparently Egypt kept hitting 3's and Jordan collapsed, as Egypt come back to win gold 76-73.

The games all end Sunday. I'll post the final medal count then (as if anyone cares lol, there's a number of Asian nations participating so I thought it'd be of interest), though apparently Egypt has more than double the gold and total medals of the second place country (Tunisia), so it'll be impossible (short of mass disqualification) to lose. Algeria is third and Morocco is now 4th.

The disappointment of the tournament has probably been Saudi Arabia (8th in total medals). War-stricken Iraq is crushing KSA with 63 medals compared to Saudi's 39.

Yup, he scored Saudi's lone goal today from the penalty spot. The Saudis and Libyans brought their full first teams. Egypt wins gold in football.

                              Egypt 2:1 Saudi Arabia

I now expect Saudi FA to immediately sack the national team manager for failing to win this tournament

and the see-saw continues in Saudi football
