Lets face it, white French players arent what they used to be like under Deschamps, Platini, Ginola, and of course, Cantona

But we shouldnt point fingers at France's best players being of African or Caribbean descent. As has been said earlier the likes of Martinique and Guadeloupe are integral parts of France as their 'Overseas Departments' and most of the African players now part of French national team are French-born or belong to immigrant families that came over from French-speaking parts of Africa like Senegal, Mali, Cameroon etc when they were very little.
