NFL star dead from gunshot wound

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3129406

damn...he was only 24 years old. Had a little daughter too. This is the kind of thing that makes me think that the world of sports is going to hell in a hand basket.

    RIP

I'm sorry dude I posted this in general discussion thread. Yes this is very sad news indeed and Sean Taylor could of been a featured pro bowl safety. Poor guy it seems like he died from a gunshot wound to the leg, which is very weird because normally you don't die because of a wound to the leg.

    RIP Sean Taylor.

My favorite player on my favorite sports franchise since childhood . Many are grieving here in the Washington area today, from young fans to old, to current and former players. R.I.P.

It's so sad and tragic but the reports are that his past probably caught up with him. At first it was reported that it was a robbery but nobody took anything. Sean Taylor had some problems with the law and he was trying to get his life back together. Man it's such a shame because the guy had so much promise.

When Joe Gibbs was asked how are you going to get through this he responded, "I don't know I have never been through something like this." Wow what a powerful statement I feel so bad for Washington and their fans.

            RIP Sean Taylor.

it was a gunshot wound to the groin, he bled to death. apperantly he was robbed and shot according to news agencies, but a lot of fans say he was targeted.

he was shot in an artery, probably his femoral artery, and the bleeding was just too much.....very very sad indeed, i saw sean taylor play in 2002 in the national championship game against OSU, he was a great player and it's especially sad that he was trying to get his shit together, had his daughter, and was trying to turn his life around after a rocky start in the NFL (spitting in a player's face, dropped DUI charge, late hits)

                RIP Sean Taylor

Ya it seems like he lost a ton of blood due to that gunshot wound, and peorple are speculating it's not a robbery because nobody took anything. It's probably his past that finally caught up with him.

It's sad to see this happen because Sean Taylor was getting his life back together because of his new baby girl. Teammates and head coach Joe Gibbs saw big change in his maturity.

Last year when Sean Taylor had all of his problems with the law put aside, he was able to make it to the Pro Bowl. Of course Sean Taylor being Sean Taylor basically almost killed the poor punter on a Special Teams play, and it's kind of a gentelman's rule that you don't hurt someone in the pro bowl.

Sean Taylor had a bad rap for being a dirty player but he also improved on that aspect of his game. He was making a change for the better because of his baby girl and something horrible like this like this happens.
